hey im gonna get my mining to 70 from 61 by powermining 11.65k iron, this will make a loss of 1.165m i was wondering once i hit 70 and go to alkharid desert and powermine whilst mining addy how long would it take to get this cash bakc?

well i mean i will be dropping 11.65k ore which i could of sold for 100ea = 1.165 mill so will it take long to make that much?

The only thing you've saved is alot of time.

yeah, i powermined iron to 70 mining and it took about few weeks cuz i only played an hour a day back then. If you rc nats via the abyss you could get that money in 4-5 hours of play, so basically 1-5 days, not hard and totally worth it

These last 2 weejs i powered from 67 to 75 mining in al-karid. It'll take a while to make 1M mining addy(slow respawns). I like to power adn when teh ady comes back i mine it. Bank when full. This was on my noob acount btw.

If you take the amount of time needed to bank, times it by how many times you need to bank, then you have all the time wasted banking.

 

Then look at that time and see if you can make the money back faster, using another skill.

 

 

 

That is a more productive approach to Mining.

 

 

 

Eg, it may take nearly 300 minutes to bank 1.1m worth of ores... But then only 3 hours to make say, 3k nature runes.

 

If this is the case, then you should not bank the ores, and make some natures.

 

 

 

 

 

Then again, you're not 'making a loss' from not banking the ores, you're just not making a gain.

You don't necessarily need to make the money back by mining. If you can make the money back faster in a different skill, then you should do that. Mining the addy ore while powermining breaks up the autonomous clicking but it slows down the rate of mining XP that you receive. Ideally to get the most XP in the shortest amount of time you should only mine the iron rocks, drop all items gotten from randoms, and mine in a busy world. Having good reflexes and clicking fast helps as well.

 

 

 

However, the strategy that you want to use ultimately depends on whether you want the fastest mining XP (around 45K XP/hour) or want to make money while sacrificing optimum XP gains. (1.165M = 1165 addy ores if sold @ 1K each. There are only 2 addy rocks in the desert mine.)

You havent really saved anytime by dropping ores.

 

 

 

It takes time to drop them one by one, I find its a similar speed to bank them using cw ring and tele back to aurdougne.

 

 

 

Yes you use up some runes this way but the banked ores pay for these plus you get to steal a gem from the gems stall and get a little mage/thieft xp as well as mining xp.

 

 

 

 

 

Addy at the desert camp did you say? I used to do that but its quite a long walk, hobgoblin mine FTW, its perfectly safe on free worlds and has more addy.

 

 

 

There are 6 addy ores and 6 mithril ores in the desert mine BTW (dont know what that last guy is thinking of, maybe he thinking of al karrid)

Just mine in Yanile and bank it.. the banking is might be even faster then dropping it.

for every 2.8k cash you lose, you get a free 980xp

You could do mining because to my wc level the only good way to make money is yews and i average maybe 100-200 yews/hour depending on my luck. With guild mining you could mine maybe 200-300 coal/hour and eventually getting to runite mining which is 12k per ore and maybe getting 1 invent/hour depending on luck.

so i powermine in alkharid till 70 then power mine again while mining addy right? thanks once i get 70 how long would it take to get enough addy ores to get enough to make up for my...semi loss lol? i could sell addy ores for 1500 so thats 776ores, how long do u think it would take and how many addy ore perhour, could someone tell me the respawn rate for addy ore ? thanks very much.

I think the respawn rate on Addy is about 6-8 minutes. The more full the world the faster the spawn.
