runescapeloser22
This might be the wrong forum, but could somebody tell me approximatly how many songs would equal about 8 gigabytes? I have absolutely no idea how to find out  I'm guessing around 1400 because i have around 500 songs on my ipod and it uses 3gb Could someone also tell me about how many songs would equal about 16 gigabytes? thanks :D
Necromagus
Very hard to say, depends on the way the songs have been encoded, more specifically the bitrate, and of course the length of the songs. Too many variables to tell. LP
i use my 1 gig psp right now for my mp3's and the bit rate varies i can get 120-140 songs on it take that times 8 = 960-1120, take that times 2 for 16gig. = 1920-2240, much more if its 128k--192k bit rate, most of my music is 320k

Led-Zeppelin
Yeah, as people here have said, depends on length and quality. All the songs I have ripped from my CDs, I rip them at max quality as you do notice a huge difference when they going through my car sterio. 320kb/s is where it is at. My iPOD is a 30GIG U2 one, I have 23.21gigs of music on it, and that is 2897 songs. But I have alot of live music and long tracks on there. Gamerr
I've been told that 8 GB ipod can store about 2000 songs, if you have tracks of like 5 minutes maximum. But it depends what type of files you use ofcourse.
deloriagod
I have ~2750 songs and it's ~13 GB. Doing that math that would be ~1700 songs for 8 GB but it also depends on your track length and how big each file is (higher quality = more space used).
