I finally used up my crystal bow 2/10 from the quest.

 

 

 

I went to the elf and bought the bow 900k

 

 

 

and another one 900k (i thought 2nd one would be cheaper..

 

 

 

but then realised I have to use the first bow up to make price reduce..)

 

 

 

But luckily I sold my bow to someone for 900k.

 

 

 

 

 

The question:

 

 

 

 

 

When I use up my bow. I go to the elf, can i buy the new bow for less?

 

 

 

and what will happen if i choose the shield?

 

 

 

should i keep the seed? what can it do?

You don't buy new bows from the person after using it up. You take the seed to another npc called llfreen or something which she will recharge the seed for you back into a full bow. 1st time you birng it to her to recharge it will cost 900k, 180k cheaper for subsequent times to recharge bows until a minimum of 180k cost at 5th time. At any time you are recharging for 1st-5th time, you may choose the shield to be recharged into. Shield starts with 750k cost, drops 150k for subsequent visits till 150k. No matter what crystal equipment you choose, the price will drop for both for that visit. Price reduction is counted by number of times she recharges your seeds i think, not by seperate costs for seperate seeds.

you need to take the bow to ilfreen she is wandering around north of the elves where you buy the bow... so if you just keep buying the bows be willing to keep paying 900k per. and your charge price wont be affected :S.

Bows and Shield recharge prices are related.

 

 

 

When it comes to recharging, ONLY the NUMBER of recharges you do will matter, not the seed, not what you recharge your seed into.

 

 

 

So if you recharge your seed first time into a bow, your next seed (regardless of whether it was the same one you recharged or not) recharge will be reduced by 20%, then 20% more, etc until it reaches 20% of its original price.

 

 

 

Recharging seeds into shields untill getting minimum price, then recharge into a bow is NOT (and i mean NOT) a good idea. On a glance it looks cheaper, but compared to recharging into bows from the start, you actually lose 300k MORE if you recharged into a shield.

 

 

 

For example, you want to recharge into the bow 5 times as use

 

 

 

So you can either recharge the seeds into shield 4 times, then recharge them as bows 5 times.

 

 

 

Or recharge them into bow from the start, 5 times.

 

 

 

Take a look:

 

 

 

first method: total cost = (750k + 600k + 450k + 300k) + 180k * 5 = 3000k

 

 

 

Second Method : Total Cost = 900k + 720k + 540k + 360k + 180k = 2700k

cheaper in repair costs. However, you can make cash by using the bow. You cannot make cash by using the shield. If you range blue dragons, the hides and bones can easily pay for the repair costs. Once the recharges are only 180k, the bow is viable for any kind of training.

You also have to remember, especially if you wear your training gear, that the shield will take a while to degrade. 2500 shots of a crystal bow will go quicker than taking 2500 hits on a crystal shield.

not if you use the shield in a multi-combat zone such as dagannoths or snuff out your light source in a tunnel :P

It's cheaper to use shield all the way because it will be 300k less total.

 

 

 

But the bow is the best and it goes by fast.
