Is there a way how to quicken the appearance of random events? Like all the army stuff, or mime?

 

 

 

In the past two evenings i spent most of the time in runescape mining in mining guild (achieved 81mining woohoo). And none of 'em happened to me.

 

 

 

Today I sold 2.5k coal and then spent some time buying it cheaper and selling 200 each, and i was taken to all these crazy places few times!

 

 

 

Now im nae doing a nothing just standing and nothing is happening...grrr

 

 

 

where's the secret? Stand still and talk over and over again (as you are when selling)

I was with 5 people h/a in w99 edge few days ago, and we got bombarded with events. 'twas kind of funny too :D

Ususally mining has little to no randoms but selling stuff in poulated places/worlds,SOS(Stronghold of security),And such.

 

 

 

Just active macro places mainly

I always seem to get a hell of a lot of randoms ranging in the sos on minotaurs.

I am now starting to predict when randoms happen in the SoS

 

 

 

it always happens when i expect it to as well. Kill many minotaurs then bury bones.

 

 

 

Randoms do not seem as random as they should be in my opinion.

I did find a trick back in 2006 that worked when i was a noob. Not sure if it still does but you can try it.

 

 

 

Kill around 30-40 guards ontop of varock castle then try to pickpocket one. 9/10 it gave me a random. I think its because some randoms work when you change what you are doing, after doing the same ting for a lon g period of time.

I think it's mostly luck. I basically spent last night doing nothing, got three mimes. I really hate that mime now, he won't leave me alone.

That brings up another question...

 

 

 

Do certain randoms occur in some places more than others?

 

 

 

Because the only randoms i get in SoS are the Evil Twin Sister and the Pop Quiz one.

well obviously its random, but many ppl have said after standing there for a while, then doing something(i.e opening store screen, standing there for a minute or 2, then buying something), then they get more randoms, because jagex thinks you are autoing. but thats not proven or anything

sit in with your bank window open for 10 minutes, organize your bank or browse forums, then close window. if that doesn't get you a random, try to tele/alch something. pretty much guaranteed a random.

There was a topic not that long ago along a very similar topic. Too out of it right now to bother looking.

 

 

 

But as said above, I have found that my best random hunting has occurred in the SoS burying minotaur bones. Managed to get my last 5 mime randoms over 3 or 4 hours (along with others). Seems to me that there is a timer on randoms occuring (e.g., every 10 minutes), but doing the same thing over and over since the last random will heavily weight a random to occur when the timer has passed. If you are truely random hunting in a place like SoS, you will likely be able to predict when the random will hit.
