slayer money making question

ok i was training slayer and i came across this question:

 

 

 

"what level slayer can i start to make money?"

 

 

 

with that can i get an answer?

Difficult to say really.

 

 

 

I'm lvl 98 slayer, and I make a profit on the majority of tasks that I do. I think I began turning a serious profit around lvl 65 after Dust Devils.

 

 

 

The serious money was made at lvl 85 with whips, but their price has collapsed and aren't really worthwhile anymore.

 

 

 

You won't get rich going from one task to the next really, but once you hit certain levels where you can access certain monsters (current and future releases), you start to make money by camping there.

58 is kind of the breaking point where you can get black masks form cave horrors but then 85 is the start of serioys cash. The at 90 you sailing :P

There are many ways to make cash via slayer. Abberant Spectres, Abby Demons, Spiritual Mages, etc. Like everything, the higher your level, the more cash you will be able to produce. However, you can't completely depend on slayer as a money maker because the drop rates are random, and is not a skill where you know how much money you will make in the end. In addition, due to the dramatic rise in people getting their slayer levels up, many drops like whips are going down. That is why you should get slayer over asap to make the most of the excellent drops. :P

TBH, Slayer isn't a good way to make money. It is slow to train, takes ages to get to at least 80+. But even at 80 Slayer it is still awful cash, as the dragon boot release has destroyed Rune Boot prices. So it's good at 85, huh? No. Not anymore, sadly. The first whip slayer drop I got, it sold for 5.3M. Now its 1.4M. -.- The bad thing is that ALL slayer drops are...dropping (in price). Slayer is only good for having fun slaying monsters, and gaining total levels (although very slow to level).

 

 

 

So if you want the cash, head off in another direction. Aviansies would probably be better money than Abyssal Demons now. But if you just want to train Slayer, then go ahead :P

he has a point. whip drops are pretty hard to get considering its price. its one of the upper slayer drops, next to dragon. i had a 6 day dry streak using guthans and i didnt score a single whip drop. however the half keys and chains adds up to a good amount and its still a decent profit.

when you consider the drop rate of the whip that's very slow cash indeed. i'm currently on a 1600 kill dry streak but usually average 1 whip every 3-500 kills. That's about 7 hours of solid killing. i had a dry streak of 1900 kills once too. the other drops from abyssals are really worth mentioning either.

 

 

 

As for the original question.. i first noticed i was making cash from slayer when i started killing abberent specters. those things drop an amazing amount of herbs and herb seeds plus a good drop rate of mystic bottoms and lava staffs. Don't forget about clues too.. if i did my clues as soon as i got them when i was going for 90 slay i would have been doing 4-5 clues a day.
