A short rant, but when you are ranging a monster, why do some arrows just dissapear? For example: Hill1193 is ranging fire giants, but finds that everytime he does, he loses some arrows.

 

 

 

Where did they go? Isn't it simple to just pluck the arrows out of the corpse? I think instead of the arrows just......dying, they should break. Either the tips wear down or the shaft snaps. With the broken arrows, u can either replace the tips, or shaft. The arrows may also just miss and become lost.

Well then, therotically I could spend 0 gp for 99 range -.-. Because you get 25 arrows from Tutorial Island. Even if I get full Green D'Hide, 1k bronze, and a maple bow, that means 99 range for only 22.5k, as long as I can repair! And that's for f2p too. A really well thought idea. -.-

so technically i could get from 1 to 99 range with 1 arrow and a bow?

 

i shoot it, reload, shoot and reload

 

 

 

if it breaks i fix it and just repeat

As everyone above spammed, I mean *posted*, this would make it possible to get incredibly high in ranged without using much money.

 

If this somehow got into the game:

 

A:Market crash? Because new arrows no longer have to be bought

 

B:*Cough*Range pures dominating wildy*Cough*

 

C:Melee > Mage > Ranger, there's no balancing in here.

Removing the random that it does actually make some arrows vanish will ruin the entire Ranging experience.

In order to balance things out-maybe you need to pay for someone to fix it. Or at a certain fletching lvl you can replace the broken part-but with the required materials. So, as long as you must pay or do something this idea is OK. But just fixing arrows over and over with no money or skill required is not good. I support if you change it to what I said(or something like that).

In real life, not all arrows are retrivable from the battlefield.

 

 

 

Many miss the target and become buried in the ground and grass where they can't be found without a metal detector. Even ones that hit a body aren't always usable again as hitting bone can damage the arrow.

 

 

 

I'm happy with the loss rate. Sorry, I don't support.

I think instead of the arrows just......dying(you later say some may just miss and be lost?), they should break. Either the tips wear down or the shaft snaps. Then, what is exactly the point of the breaking arrows...? I'd rather not have to fix arrows, if they're going to be lost anyways...

I never meant it to seem like range is going to be a free 1-99. I meant it as some of the arrows that would be lost, you would be able to retrieve and repair. You would need to replace the shaft or tips by making them, removing the old broken ones, and attaching the new ones. Please stop making it seem as if I am stupid or just lack logic, as this solution is very realistic.

 

 

 

I'm guessing that you know that arrows just don't dissapear in real life. They either break, get dug into the ground, or get stuck halfway or completely inside the corpse.

i read about it on the runescape site somewhere. basically, some arrows get burined under ground or end up inside the monster, so cant be got back. on average, 4 in every 5 arrows is retreived, but the stronger the metal, the more chance there is of being retreived.

Yes, but in real life, can an arrows that got split, be fixed? I don't think so. Or if the arrow tip got seperated from the shaft could that be fixed, not really. It's not like you can super glue them and they're good as new. You're suggestion needs a LOT of work, like fletching lvls, how the arrows get reatached, etc...

Perhaps if it was updated so that you could use the workshop in POH's to accomplish this along with the fletching...

 

 

 

But otherwise, it would be rediculous. Only way I can see this happening is if they were non-stackable.

This will make fletcher harder to sell arrows.

 

It might be more troublesome if every arrow you shoot will be broken.
