ok, well i bought a green mask for 20.5 a few weeks before halloween thinking the price should go up. it should have and i have been told it usually does. Now why the hell are they selling for 19.2, 2 days before halloween? manipulators? anyways, will they go up quickly after halloween? i dont like losing 1.3m for nothing. does anyone have a tip for anything regarding rares? i just am confused as ever about this. supply and demand should not be like this. when supply is down, price is up. the amount of masks couldnt have increased, so why would it drop, and by so much...?

yes that could be a factor, but how many people do you think bought one?

Don't depend on rares to make you money, there are way too unstable tbh. They are always going up and down, up and down. Everyone is always like "buy them before this (day) because there going to shot up in price!" but it rarely happens. The only way your going to make money from them is over time or if there is some significant event in RuneScape that causes the prices to go up.

 

 

 

Also it has to do something with what David said, tons of people think that the price will rise just because of the time of year and really, it doesn't matter. Who says to them self "Oh its Halloween so I have to get a Green/Red/Blue Mask" or "Its Christmas so I want a Santa now" People buy rares usually because they like how they look or it makes them feel rich, not because of the Holiday.

The fact that other people are selling it at 19.2M now doesn't mean you have to sell it at that price now. Just let it sit in your bank untill prices go up again due to a higher demand :

Generally speaking yes, and then fall soon after the holiday is over.

 

Lesson learned? Buy you rares a year in advance :P

this was my first time buying a rare with the idea of making money, just to the person who thought i made money like this :P

 

 

 

also, i talked to a lot of people and they all said its a good investment for the season, and i agreed with it myself. my lesson has been learned; never sell rares on a holiday, only buy them. oh well, first time experimenting with it, and at least i got knowledge out of it. thanks for the ideas :)
