Would having no prayer make it harder for me to play BA? How long would it take me to get a fighter torso?

Prayer is hardly used in BA (I don't think it can be used) so you wont have a problem.

Yes, You can't use prayer skill in Barbarian Assault anyway, i know it for sure.

Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.
