blosssom2581
I have been training up my mining level, in order to reach the highly profitable lvl70 (addy ores ftw!) in f2p server. So far, I'm currently at lvl63. BTW, addy ores is the only profitable biz in f2p which have never been affected by bots. (a small tip for f2p players) :D It'd be nice if you can tell me which method is faster - mining coal, or mining gold (wow that rhymes ) Because if the speed difference is small, I will mine gold instead of coal for the much higher profit after selling gold ores. Furthermore, is it better in terms of monetary return if using Falador teleport runes to save time after mining a bunch of gold ore, provided that I had chosen mining gold in advance. My route will be Falador bank =RUN=> Crafting Guild =TELE=> Falador Square =Run=> Falador bank (repeat...) in case of this. Thanks in advance! Warrager
Um if you want to lvl the fastest, mine iron ores for SURE. If you want profit, coal in mining guild. Gold ores are pretty slow respawn, and only sell for 2 times coal. So the time it takes you to get 10 gold ores, you could probably have a full inventory of coal. VjuliusT
Coal for speed and gold for money, you pick.
hephaestos8
i think gold would be too slow and crouded at your mining lvl, therefore yo should do either iron or coal
blosssom2581
WOW your reply is that quick - less than 5 minutes and 2 replys are waiting for me! no! the third is here when I'm preparing this reply! Okay. In short - gold for $$ coal for time I wanna raise another question as well (sorry for disturbing you) Should I get 70 mining, which should be employed to gain the maximum amount of cash (my focus will no longer on time when I get to this level) (1) Mining addy in Hobglobin mine, Wildy lvl30 (1200ea) (2) Mining coal (150ea) At this moment, I only sell ores... as my smithing level, you know... #-o Thanks AGAIN in ADVANCE Currently taking a break from Runescape
Nopheo
Since money is the goal and not truely to be 70 I would go with gold since you only want 70 for cash. Gold is a cash cow.

Warrager
Coal can sell on these forums for 190 ea. I'd say addy. But you'll have to world hop A LOT. So keep that in mind...
Doomster
At 50 Smithing, you could superheat mithril bars, packing 5 ores to one bar. I used to like the wilderness mines, but haven't been there since TB@JT got rid of "monster protection". You can no longer keep a PKer at bay by engaging a monster in combat, as player attacks override monster attacks. The wilderness mines are a lot more dangerous than they used to be! wioneo
I'd say that f2p gold mining would be an extreme waste of time at your(or my) mining level. It might get good around 80 or so. Superheating mith bars is a good suggestion, as you get good xp and also you can sell the bars for 1500 ea. And also you will gain more exp per trip seeing as you need to mine 5 ores to smelt into a bar. You will also get 30 smithing xp and 53 magic xp per bar. Each mith bar you smelt would have earnt you 1500gp and 280 mining xp. P2P offers more and better ways of making money than f2p. That's one of the cons you just have to play with if you don't feel like having 1 bigmac meal less per month.
hybrid2hell
Id say coal all the way in order to get the best speed/profit. Gold is a bit slow and crowded, and you wont get any money mining iron. So go with coal. Gl :D I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames. etpelletier
Actually, the fastest would be iron ores (dropping them) but if you want/need money, golds are faster.
