Well earlier I tried out the Assist system. My first time. But I did read how to use it and all that. A friend asked if he could use my Runecrafting to do x4 Minds. I agreed. He requested, I turned on the Rune Crafting assist and he went off.

 

 

 

About 15 minutes I was like "Geez when are you gonna start crafting?" He had already done 4 loads! It didn't say that I had gained ANY exp at all. He told me I could close the Assist box so I did. I reopened it thinking that maybe then it would show my EXP gained and it didn't as you can tell:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I looked at my runecrafting exp, and it didnt move at all. Yet he was able to use my runecrafting level (I know this because he hates runecrafting. his level is only 5 -.- ).

 

 

 

Any ideas on what happened?

Seriously it might be a bug.

if you were in the bank while he was crafting then he wasnt using your lv. You must be within 20 spaces to assist thus you have to go with your friend to let him use your lv. Sorry but not a bug

I give you 1 situation.

 

I with another player was in the furnace.

 

Both of us can smelt mithril bars.

 

Yet that player request assist on me so I accepted.

 

After I on smithing and that player smelt mithril bars, I didn't get the experiance points.

The assist system only works with a 20(ish?) square radius around you, so if you were in cammy and he was out all the way at the mind altar, there was no way you could have been in range to help him.

 

 

 

At least I think that's what you're problem is?

What about mine?

You won't get any xp off him if he can already craft that particular rune.

 

 

 

I've tried it too. I assisted another player on the fishing skill. This player, X, has the ability to catch tuna though he could not quite manage swordfishes yet. X found that his tuna catching speed significantly increases even though I don't get any xp. I find that I only get the xp when my friend, X, catches a swordfish.

Now I finally understand how it works.

theres 2 things with that pic.

 

 

 

1) if the player being assisted and they can already do that item you Won't get any exp

 

 

 

2) the icons are clear. you need to click them so they are highlighted green (or another colour) when they do the skill and it's highlighted you will see the exp rise on that certain skill : cancel the screen by walking/pressing X button to get the exp :
