III. Helpful Tips:

Don't post your first ever sig. To be quite honest with you, they are hardly ever decent. Remember, if you think it doesn't look good, it doesn't. For those of you who truely feel that you are hot stuff, ask for a second opinion such as family member, friend, or messenger buddy if you want a real opinion as to if it's any good. If they give good feedback, post away.

Really, there is no need to put so many samples on it.

Other than that, I would advice you to work on it some more before posting it, it really isn't much yet. It's not as bad as some other first pixels I've seen here though, just keep on practising.

Good luck! :)

No offense but it's pretty bad, there's no need to put samples on no-one is going to rip something that bad. Sorry but it looks like you draw a line across, filled in the ground, filled in the sky, used a default yellow filled circle for the sun, then drew a simple hut and used the line tool for the detail. The sun is too big. The hut is magic and appears to be at the end of the earth, and as has been said, the sun wouldn't be out at night. Make the hut more 3d. Move it forwards so it looks like its not on the horizon, make the sun smaller/make it a moon and smaller. Don't use the default colours go into colours and choose some more appropriate ones.

^ A moon maybe...?

Hmm... Strange moon...

If people don't know what it is, that's probably a pretty good sign that it doesn't look right. Good luck on pixel making. Look at some tutorials on websites around the internet. Learn shading and 3d perspectives. Well done on starting on an avatar. I heard that was the best way to advance.

how do i do the cool "samples" in the sig?

You can ether use the text tool in paint, or use 'invisible' watermarks like me.

Step 1: Make a small picture(less than 50x50) in paint using black. I'll use my cat logo for this, although it's a bit too complex for an effective watermark.

Step 2: Color the watermark. I suggest you use a color just a little more brighter/darker or more/less saturated.

invisible_color.png

As you can see (or can you?) the color on the left is one saturation number lower than the color on the right. You could also make the color one shade lighter or one shade darker, but the saturation method is far more efficient.

Step 3: Color the symbol using your slightly less/more saturated or slightly less lighter/darker color. Then, (Edit-Cut-Paste) the image and drag it against your base-colored background.

As you can see, my cat is practically invisible against my background.

As for the pixeling, you have a LONG way too go.. I suggest you study this tutorial, it really helped me a lot. ::'

It's called a pixel, get it right.

also.. its not a sun? I assume it would be a moon, but since when were moons yellow?

Finally it can hardly be called a pixel. Its a few lines that looks like some kid was just messing around in paint.
