Harrington
Does anyone know if the number of people using the same fishing spot, have an impact on how many fish you catch? i.e. if lots of people are using it, will you catch less? I'm wondering if it's worth persuing a private spot. Same question could be applied to trees as well I guess.
Invisible_Kid
I've always wondered if it did or not, but I made a point that I would go to a fishing spot that isn't crowded as the other spots. |Cancer Survivor|2 years ago...She was a stalker?!!?http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5394/s ... adyjh8.pnghttp://img45.imageshack.us/img45/4107/s ... dy2lp0.png
Harrington
Yeah, I generally go for empty spots myself, but it's often a hastle finding one. Just wondering if it's actually worthwhile or not lol
fedex340
Ya i think that the more people who fish at a spot you catch fish slower, that why i always try to find a free spot (88 fish atm) and i know it effects trees because the more people who cut a tree the faster it goes down. Or..at least thats what i've always know :-k im in my chat usually if you have anymore questiong ps i think i have first post :XD: edit: (shucks i was 2d  )
Invisible_Kid
Don't other people's fishing lvls affect you too? Especially those people who have higher fishing lvls than you. >_> |Cancer Survivor|2 years ago...She was a stalker?!!?http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5394/s ... adyjh8.pnghttp://img45.imageshack.us/img45/4107/s ... dy2lp0.png
Harrington
I think it's mainly speculation if other players effect you or not. I think I might post this question to Jagex customer support for a definative answer. Will post the reply here if I get one.

icecube
I don't think it affects your fishing speed, but it will affect how fast the spot changes if more people are clicking on it.

Yer, I noticed that's definately true. The speed thing is difficult to test though, so I'm hoping Jagex will answer me lol
kemikalkadet
I know that it does affect it for tree's.. there's a pre-set random number of logs in each tree when it respawns. I'm not too sure about fishing though.. fishing spots are actually coded in a different way to trees.. if you try casting a spell on one you get the message 'you cannot attack this NPC' so i'd assume fish spot's are coded as NPC's while trees aren't. whether that means there isn't a set number of fish per spot i'm not sure, but it wouldn't make sense for Jagex to code them differently like that yet have them perform the same function. Zaaps1
Definitely affects trees. I know that. I'm not sure about the fishing spot though. However, the more people who use the spot, the more randoms come out of it. (Whirlpool, moving fishing spot, etc.) ~It's Super Effective! icecube
I think the reason they're coded differently is because sometimes fishing spots contain different fish (salmon and trout for example), while trees only have 1 type of log. And since getting more of one fish (salmon) is dependent on your fishing level, setting the amount of fish in a spot would be hard.
magicmagicy
Im pretty sure the difference of time (if there is) would be too little/insignificant for you guys to purse this question any longer.
etpelletier
My friend has 78 fishing now and he saw this too. He thinks that more there are people fishing in the same spot, the fastest you will get fish. Roberthree
I catch at the same rate If I'm on a f2p world at barbarians (Packed) or a quiet world at shilo... so I think it doesn't matter, and if it does it's too slow to notice.
