ok heres the deal - i want xp in fish fast and i want something out of it aswell.. so exclude trouts

 

should i continue with lobs or do the quest and start catchin monks?

Do monks if you're looking for money.

Monks are the all-around best. Trout/Salmon are faster and yield minimal profit, same thing with roe/caviar.

If you're able to do the Swan Song quest, definitely go for monks (profit). In comparison between trout/salmon and monks in terms of xp, there is not too much of a difference iirc :)

Except for the xp, try Fly fishing for FASTEST exp... but monks are very nice in the end when it comes down to money.
