LOCK!!! LOCK!!! LOCK!!! LOCK!!! LOCK!!! LOCK!!! Forum Links

Featured Replies

Whenever I click on a link that someone has posted, it opens up in a new window, which gets really annoying. Im not sure if this is just part of the internet, or something tip.it has done. Other websites don't do this, their links just redirect the page.

Please tell me if this isn't something tipi.it can't change.

I personally wouldn't like it if a link i clicked redirects the current page I am visiting to another one though I could always right click -> open in new tab/window. However, it still depends on how the community wants it like.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Yes it's Tip.it and yes it's intentional. It's somewhat annoying clicking a link on the forum only to completely lose the thread you were just reading when you may want to reply to it after seeing said link.

It is standard to phpBB2.x. It is unlikely to be changed. In phpBB3.x it might be able to be changed in the user preferences but not in the current version.

I agree totally.

If the fact that the forums open a new window annoys you so much, either upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or install Mozilla Firefox, as both support tabbed browsing. This way, your new window will not open itself in a completely separate window, but instead in a tab within the current window, which helps to keep things much more organized.
