I am the soloist in my school choir for the low songs while i leave a year 8 to do the solos for the high songs. I did the 2003 christmas number 1 Mad World at my school's carol concert, all my teacers were there in row 1 and 2! If not so long as you got the required equipment i would happily record that song as a solo. However i would want to use a different tune to what you had in mind.
