Atheist v. God (Real Life Essay)

Featured Replies

While i give that if everyone believed in one specific religion, the world would be a lot more peaceful, as there would be no religion based war (or if we were all atheists for that matter) but you are basically saying that all emos are atheists, and all people who kill people are atheists. You also said that all atheists refuse to believe in religion, and thus worship satan... That's a pretty damn big contradiction. I understand why people worship one religion or another, and even though i am an atheist, i don't think religious people are all idiots. You mentioned that atheists get mad at you after you explain your beliefs, after you listened to theirs, but duh! Your beliefs are that atheists are all satan worshiping emo mass murderers! That's like walking up to a guy with long hair, and telling him that according to your beliefs all people with long hair deserve to die.

I almost began reading this as sort of a satire, or something. It's hard to believe someone could be that ignorant.

In arguments, one must have representative examples that show the reality of things, not generalizations. The thesis in the letter, which seems to be something along the lines that atheists cause all the evil in the world, is far too oversimplified and does not represent the reality of things in the world, and thus cannot be proven.

In short, the letter fails. Atheists shouldn't stereotype Christians and others, but it's just as bad the other way around.

Wow, and I started reading that as satire

Ha, so did I.

What a hypocritical post , saying that we're all too arrogant to think about other people ha. Get out more, seriously, you might actually discover that being an atheist doesn't make you an emo, apparently the majority of people on this board are depressed and constantly thinking about taking there life, love it. Labeling all emo's atheist is wrong too, you can't just generalise without any sort of data backing your arguments up, especially in an essay, which this is not.

I have absolutely nothing wrong with any religion, it is what other people choose to believe because it suits them, Christianity suits you, Atheism suits me. You can't just trample people's belief systems, that's going against all that you are trying to preach in your article.

There is also things called moral values, they that are exactly what the church teaches, albeit in a more iron-handed way. This is what all human beings, regardless of belief system use to discern how to act in a situation, and the type of person that you are is defined by your interpretation of them, so saying that all Atheists are ruthless, cold hearted bastards is completely false, it is another massive generalisation and only shows your ignorance about other people, and in particular the group of people who you chose to pick on.

You sir, sound like my step-mother.

We American's have become apathetic in our culture. Many have heard of the infamous 'emo' subculture, and ye, many hate them. I would hope to consider myself...indifferent and...unbiased. It is hard, though. I am not as apathetic as they. As many have seen it, the 8 billion people on Earth is a strangling idea. Many wonder what will people care when they die? Such ideas were the spawning pool of emo's and nihilism, for they, indeed, must, simply must find a way to be different. Many men and woman have distuingished themselves forever in Human history for being famous and morale beyong recognition. However, it is clearly easier to sink. Why climb up the mountain, when you can simply slide down it? 'Emo' people dunk themselves into as many unsavory, horrible, unholy and unclean acts as they can manage.

In a desperate scramble for fame, they open windows into their own lives, hoping that other will see some shred of glory in the form of unholy torment of their own souls. Pain and suffering are their allies, and brutal, cold perversion, their brother. Glory and honor have passed far beyond their reach, and they now try to sink lower than any other has other gone before. Bitter and ironic, the 'emo' group are sadly merely masking themselves with the masks that hundreds of millions of other humans are wearing. Desperately they sought their own individual place in history, but ironically, they were only digging themselves deeper into one of the largest and most similiar groups in the world.

Such is what apathy has done to us. And what, of course, do 'emo' people have to do with these raving lunatics that take life with not so much as a blink? Simple. That they are atheist. All emo's must be atheist.

Atheists seem to have acquired the highest level of apathy than any other group of humans on earth across any period of time, ever. Exercising their freedoms to a ridiculous extent, they have become more anti-theistic than atheists. Nihilism spreads bitterly amongst their population, and soon they become wild, rabid, and like emo's, desperate for attention. But unlike emo's, they acquire it in an even more unholy way. By desecrating the LORD's fifth commandment, 'Thou Shalt Not Kill,' even the most hardy of media groups will come flocking to the scene. It just has to be big enough...ridiculous enough. Cruel enough. To take ones life without cause or reason, surely, must be the most black-hearted thing any human being could ever accomplish.

As so, they proceed to turn their hearts as black as night. Taking arms against those who have none for no reason, they slay and kill indiscriminantly, taking an unholy inkwell of blood and carving their names into the hellish tomes of Inhumane Human History. The more life is taken, the deeper the etch, and the brighter the ink.

So what you're saying is that all emos are atheist? That's prejudice.

Dude, people like you are the ones that tick me off. I personally believe in a god, but I'm still trying to figure that.

You are an attention seeker making people trying to do things they do not want to do. Does the "Lord" want that? And by reading your stupid freaking letter, I'm guessing that you hate gay people, too?

You, my friend, are an [wagon]. Wherever there is agreement, there will be disagreement. Wherever there are riches, there are people who are greedy and long to steal the riches. There will always be disagreement in this world, and nobody can change that.

Honestly, even though you sound like my step-mother, she would even disagree with you. And that my friend, in my family, is a complete and utter disgrace.

You guys do realize that the very fact that he hasn't responded yet is further evidence that he's a troll, and a lazy one at that. Do not even bother responding to the OP- it's a waste of your own time, and has been stated more times than I can count, the very existence of a response gives the troll the feeling of winning.

As for the thread itself, he definitely copy-pasted this. This is way too much effort for a troll like this guy, especially when it's written so terribly. I mean, not to make nonsensical and redundant bashing, but the logic of this letter is so flawed that there is literally zero possiblity that it is real. A true troll letter, if done to the length of this one -something I wouldn't suggest for blooming trolls, it makes your trolling obvious and wastes your time- would put more emphasis on making their flawed logic and bigotry sound somewhat logical than on using flowery phrasing and making the post extremely long.

So OP, if you're going to be a troll, at least do it right. Try responding, instead of being a lazy-[wagon] who copies some thread from another forum, posts it here, and hopes that he'll actually accomplish something by doing absolutely frikkin' nothing.

As Zonorhc stated, fail troll is fail. Not to give credence to the grammar of that age-old phrase, but there's only one thing I hate worse than a troll, and that's a fail troll. You, sir, are a fail troll. So please, for all of us, go back to troll academy and learn how to do your goddamn job properly for Christ's sake.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Hahahahaha...Where to begin.

Parenthetical Citations. You'll get yourself into a lot of trouble without them.

This letter claims to be for individuality, but then bashes freedom of expression and religion. This paper is such a pile of hypocritic [cabbage] that I felt a little sick to my stomach while reading this. Maybe it's because I'm tired. Maybe it's just because of this paper. But the fact that you feel you can scapegoat all of the world's problems on a group of people is totally hilarious, while you claim to support individualism.

I defend this emo subculture because people have the right to express themselves any way they want. You really think that all people who dress a certain way are completely black and white like that? Haha. That's just like a modern Hitler. That is adorable. That is such [cabbage] that I'm chuckling at how funny this is in real life. This kind of thinking is what causes these precious world problems you're blaming people on. Of course, that's not the main part that pisses me off. There are such blatant stereotypes, blatant inaccuracies, and blatant talking-out-of-your-[wagon]'s that I could go on longer. But what really surprises me is how you learned this. Can you not comprehend that this is hypocritical? I didn't find one element of hypocritical behavior in that post. The whole thing didn't make one ounce of sense, just about 10 tons of [cabbage].

I don't know what my spirituality preference is, but if you don't change your views now, right now, than I seriously hope any god out there sends you to where people like you belong. Go ahead and go to church. Just hope you know that Christians everywhere are disgraced because of you. It's amazing how humans can be motivated to think this crap.

Are you turning this in for a grade? If this is all a joke, then touche. You pissed me off. But I don't think it is.

I should have skipped to the end to read the comments before I read that crap. I'm a christian, and that was simply and ignorant kid who desperately needs to open the window to his library of novels from the 1920s. =;

Your text significantly resembles the works of Hitler, except you've substituted the center of hate from "jews" to "atheists/emos".

And just a note, unless you want to ruin your grades, it probably would be a good idea to reconsider submitting that essay to a real teacher.
