Prayer Book worth it?

I speak of the reward of the Great Brain Robbery, the one that cures poison.

I have not done the GBR, nor Cabin Fever, nor Rum Deal, nor Zogre Flesh Eaters. I have every other requirement EXCEPT 40 farming.

Now I ask, is doing all those quests and gaining all those levels WORTH the book?

I plan to kill Monkey Guards on Ape Atoll, in case that matters. I have no problem bringing antipoisons.

I'm pretty sure fire giants would be faster xp, but more expensive b/c of the lack of an alter. Partially because fire giants are easier to hit than Ape Guards, and also because you can stay at 1 hp without dying without need of poison (unless evil chicken comes)

Oh ok.

I have one more question (sorry about hijacking), would training attack still be as effective? Is there a big exp difference between accurate and aggressive?

Hmm...good question...supposedly training on accurate is more accurate (duh  ) and on aggressive is more damage...however, xp wise, i don't know the difference.

Hmm, depends on your prayer lvl. If you wear a god cloak and a mitre to boost your prayer, you should able to earn a good amount of xp with the prayer pots you use.

Test out how long it takes for you prayer to run out.

Take that number divide by your prayer points.

Take that and multiply by the amount of prayer points each dose of prayer potion.

Then multiply that by the number of prayer pots that you're going to bring in.

Thats how long you should last in there with "x" prayer pots.

For the cost, just do "x"*"price of prayer pots"/"Time found previously"

For ape atoll monkies, 2-3 super poisons would last you your entire trip. So the book would be absolutely useless in this situation.

And training all attack styles (att, str and def) with this method would be fast and vary in exp per hour by a small amount probably by 5-15k an hour.. (im guessing)

I would rather not spend money on p pots by killing fires in the smoky well, especially if its only going to be like 10-20k exp an hour faster. Plus if you get hit by a dust devil you can say bye bye to your dharoks, they have been known to wander in the room from time to time, its rare but its a possibility.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

Dust devil's are not aggressive and It's common practice to keep "Protect Item" on in case of chickens. PPots are dirt cheap nowadays and odds are the fire giants will cover those costs with rune arrows and scimitars.

10k-20k exp extra/hr is HUGE, that's like upgrading from a rune scim to a whip, I'd definetly consider an increase like that. Also, dust devils are no where near fire giants, you have to travel a whole 2 minimaps or so to get to them. Not that much but for chances of them hitting you it's extremely far. Even then, dust devils are NOT agressive so if they do come in, you're safe. If you accidently attack them, chances are you're still praying, and even if you're not, we have gravestones now. 5 minutes to get from lumby to dusty well? Easy.

I really regret selling my Dharoks at times :(

Underline:

Its more like going from a d long to a whip. Don't overestimate the power of a rune scimmy.. And 10-20k may be huge in the long run, but he only needs 9 levels so it will make a difference of a day. Meaning less chance of profit or breaking even with fires. They do drop rune arrows and scimmys... but they are not as common as you think. You can use probably 2-4 p pots (4 dosers) an hour at 57 prayer. It can take up to 2-3 hours for one rune scimmy drop. Plus with the "death" of pking rune arrows arn't the easiest or best thing to sell like they use to be in the past. Maybe with the new solo pking minigame they are releasing rune arrows will see a jump back up in price, but by then he could have 99 str... :-w. I may not have the best of luck but I have spent countless hours killing fire giants and with the 10k+ I have killed only ever gotten 1 dragon drop, which was a spear so I wouldn't count on one of those helping you out to much...

The fire giants in the boxed in area are where you want to train at. They are hardly 2 minimaps away from dust devils...

-----------

Also a man willing to give his opinion should be willing to realize his mistakes. I forgot dusties were not aggressive so by all means, as long as you don't touch them, they won't touch you  .

However I still say stick with the Ape Atoll Monkies.. just all around more fun. IMO, plus they heal themselves a bit so getting that KO makes you feel that much better.

I can't find the guide which has exp rates for all the weapons, but I'd say that it's probably between rune and dragon to whip. Even if you have a small goal, you're still going to train later on (most likely) so it's still a good option, earlier you start the more it benefits.

I'll agree that the drops won't count for all the prayer pots, but consider that prayer pots aren't that expensive until you start buying ~1k and that you can make them yourself for free. The costs aren't that bad seeing as you can control them by making your own.

As for the map, it's dependant on where you are, obviously if you stand right at the doorway it's going to be quite close, but if you train behind the chest it could be 1-2 mini maps away to get to a dusty, the dusties don't have to be waiting right at the doorway for you. Even if they are, it doesn't aside from the fact that they're non-aggressive

Oooh, yea.... Move your house to polivneach and you have no risk at all =D.

Great idea, no way could you not make it in time with a house there :P

As for the evil chicken, it has been updated to wait several seconds before attacking, this is ample time to get away from the giant, into the dusties-only area and flick on mage pray. Or just run away.

Don't overestimate the power of a rune scimmy

Wouldn't that be underestimating? :-k

Edit: Missed the bottom part, must have eddited it in later? I don't really like the monkeys, their defence seems so high to me, even when I use piety. But I guess it all comes down to preference :P
