Icefuzion has now made the first runescape rss feed for users to use to keep up to date with runescape from anywhere(They must have firefox or an rss reader)

ok here is how to do it on Firefox!

 

 

 

you guys who haven't got firefox http://getfirefox.com

 

 

 

now there is two ways

 

 

 

1: (on firefox)click bookmarks>manage bookmarks>(popup screen)file>new livemark...>fill in name as"runescape rss feed"> and fill feed loaction with http://www.icefuzion.net/rss/runescapenewsfeed.xml

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2:

 

 

 

go to icefuzion.net (firefox browser)> click on orange button on bottom right hand corner> save bookmark>done!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

now to read the news:

 

 

 

go to where you saved the bookmark and then click on it, it should then bring up a list of the newest update and then you simply click on the one you want to read about!

That looks awesome :D However it would be preferable if the news was in reverse (descending) order like most rss feeds :) Can I ask how the news is updated? Is it doen by a script or just whenever the owner of icefusion looks at the news on runescape.com and copies and pastes it?

But yeah, as Cameron said.. firstly... the most recent item should be at the top of the list. And i would also like to know if it is synced from runescape.com or if the rs feed admin has to paste it in himself?

the rss feed is updated every hour automatically and i fixed the order of the feed

Can this also work in Mozilla? Firefox and mozilla are pretty similar in many aspects, but there appears to be no live bookmarks in my mozilla :(

ill need to edit the script atm because its only writing game update and security update.

Sure, but a limit of 6-10 items would be great, seeing as it's not too long in the firefox bookmarks tab

I still have no clue whats going on :? . Can someone tell me what exactly this does before i bother?

If you use the firefox bookmarks tab to store it..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You click on the bookmark and a drop down list appears, ideally with 10 or so items. You can then choose one of those links in the dropdown and goto that page. It requires little to no updating on your end, so you can check a feed in teh morning and get different content than in the afternoon.

Or, if the server supports php 5, you could just use a DOM (which can be easier in some cases)

You seem to have removed the "link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" line from your site :-? Could you please replace it?
