I'm Becoming a Member

Featured Replies

Well... Yeah. I've been F2P for two years and I don't know how I'm going to do this. I have some basic knowledge of membership, but not enough to help me when I first start out. I'm looking for a good Pest Control Outfit for training melee. I have a 4 mil budget so suggest away.

So far I've thought out this:

1: Step through "The Gate" into member's world

2: Do Drudic Ritual Quest

3: Go to Combat Guild place where you get Rune Defender

4: Get the Rune Defender

5: Buy slayer equipment

1. hit yourself for thinking about becoming a member

2. hit someone else that influenced you to become a member

3. ask an ex-member that dies not wish to return why he left

4. hit yourself on your head again

5. subscribe yourself to a psychiatric hospital

DON'T BECOME P2P!!!! :(

Pest control is worthless for combat xp now but the rest of your plan is ok I guess..

Sorry, I figured it was more of an announcement than anything else.

What would be good combat exp?

Train Slayer. Best combat experience you could find. Especially when you get to Bloodvelds, Abberant Spectres, and Dustdevils.

Thanks. Instead of spamming up the thread, would you like to suggest something to not make it boring. <.<

I dont recomend PC for training combat. Like an above post said try slayer, very usefull skill. Also recomend that you do the Druidic Ritual quest as soon as you join.

I agree with Mauranius, don't go p2p!

At first you just find a slayer master. (I recomend using the tip it slayer guide to get your basic info rather than from me) You get assinged a monster and kill it. As you get special slayer monsters to kill it may take some special items that you can buy from slayer masters to kill them.

Example: you need ice coolers to dump ice water on desert lizards to finish them off. Insulated gloves for killing killerwats. And many others like that.

The one critical piece of equipement is a black mask, it increases your attack and strength by 10% when on slayer assignments, dont leave without it. It'll cost you around 400k, probably less.

This was moved here. Any way there are uses for pest control. Cheif among them is for training ranged or magic without runes or arrows. I do this sonce I hate training magic and ranged yet almost all of the few quests I have left to do reqire higher magic than I have. You use conventional training as long as you can, then you can use PC to help (the higher the level the more effective).

I would suggest doing tears of guthix and as many otehr quests as you can. Tears of Guthix will aid in teh inital leveling of members skills. Agility is also very usefull since you can run farther (it rechages while you run so faster recharging can give an extra second or 2) and more importantly run more often. You may also want to gain access to the fairy rings ASAP, they are (along with spirit trees and gnome gliders) imensly useful.

I would train up all skills that you need for quests. Theres alot of quests with great rewards, like the ones that enables you to use teleports (camelot, ardy, watchtower, fairy rings, baloons, gliders, spirit trees).

Also if you plan on levling slayer you'll probably get alot of clue's, which you will have to have done some quests to access certain areas for.

Awesome, thanks for the advice and the move. :D I'll add the black mask to my list of things to buy.

And Mauranius, why shouldn't I become P2P? Playing in F2P has just become a chore, a chore that I'm sick of.

Be prepared to spend around 3 hours getting your Rune Defender. However, getting one is one of the best choices you could make. Remember to get a backup one too! For getting tokens you should animate Black or Mith Armor. It's the quickest way of getting tokens.

To add to your list, I'd suggest doing Horror from the Deep, then getting a Zammy book. You will want it very badly whenever you 1-handed Range or Mage.

You will also want to make Animal Magnetism your highest priority quest. I can't imagine ever having ranged without Ava's Device.

Good luck, and have fun in membership!
