I used this tut for help. C/c please (oh, and could someone tell me how to get fonts from dafont.com into gimp?).

Edit: changed quality to 100%

I like it, but why make it such a bad quality?

To make fonts, download the file, then extract it. Copy the TTF file once you extract the zipped file, go to your Control Panel>Fonts and then paste it there.

What file type should I save it as to make it better quality?

When saving you should save as .jpg, I'm not sure how gimp works but there should be a saved optimized as/save for web which will help with the quality/filesize.

Anyways, its pretty good for a first, the pixel stretch worked quite nicely, and the render is blended good. The only problem is the text. I can't give much advice as I suck at text too but the 'Steve-O' text should be a touch higher, the Don't try this at home is fine where it is. I don't really like the Steve-O font but the Don't try this at home font works pretty good.

Nice sig for a first keep it up read up on some tutorials ect. (For tutorials I suggest browsing through http://www.deviantart.com)

The only way you will be able to change the position/font of the text is it you saved a .psd(Or whatever gimp uses) copy, if not, your stuck with that text and font. Still its pretty good for a first

Made another signature. Don't quite like it, but meh. Practice makes perfect.

Not bad, its a little simple. Maybe add something to the middle. Not enough going on.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but whenever I added anything it "took over" the picture, if you know what I mean.

Tried expanding it, did not work out well.

I found one I was working on a few days ago. Couldn't finish it because the layers were merged :S

eh, not really, besides, GIF keeps the colors better. and JPEG might only work if you know what your doing, and you do it properly. if you just save as jpeg, your going to lose ALOT of quality

ive NEVER had problem with GIF losing quality. never. and it keeps the colors alot better.

I always save as .jpg.

I thought gif could only handle 256 colors or something?

Enough of the file types.

All it looks like is the px stretched, render duped, then smudged.

Great sigs, though if Steve-O was brightened up that might look even better.

Does that mean it's bad? If so give me some links to tuts for making sigs like you do?
