Wow, that so expensive! Only about 1/3 the price you pay for 1 Nintendo Power magazine. Second, you probably havn't played all the games. Halo 2 isn't overrated, but it always seems to be the Nintendo fanboys who think it is. Its got download content, a great new innovative "Party System", a great matchmaking system, clans, and online stats and leaderboards, splitscreen (you can even play with 3 friends on 1 tv against other people online), co-op, system link, and a great campaign storyline and enviroments and you even get to see the Covenant side.. I know some games are not very good online, but there are quite a few good ones and you have to know which ones to play. Here is a very small list of great XBox Live enabled games off the top of my head: DOOM 3 - Online co-op, multiplayer, and download content. Star Wars Battlefront - online multiplayer and download content. Halo 2 - already mentioned reasons above. Forza Motorsport - Great features, can't name them since I have not played it yet. All I know is my friend is constantly playing it and it has a cool garage mode (kind of like a "clan" for racing) and great online competition. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - Great online multiplayer, downlaod content, and online co-op. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Black Arrow - Great multiplayer and download content + use of new xbox live updates. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 - Online co-op, online multiplayer, download content. Unreal Championship 2 - Great online multiplayer and download content. Another great game that will be comming out is Conker:Live and Reloaded. There are plenty more great online titles, but those are just ones I like and can think of right now. What titles are ports of N64? Conker:Live and Reloaded isn't a port, and its comming out for XBox, not XBox 360! Perfect Dark Zero is definatly not a port. Its a sequel. XBox has had an amazing lineup of games, especially in the past 2 years. Fable Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 Project Gotham 1 and 2 Halo 1 and 2 Unreal Championship 1 and 2 Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City (and in June, San Andreas) Splinter Cell series Ghost Recon series Rainbow Six series (Rainbow Six 4 will be out soon, featuring 4 player online cooperative mode) Forza Motorsport Brothers in Arms DOOM 3 Burnout 3:Takedown Rallisport Challenge 2 Chronicles of Riddik:Escape from Butchers Bay Ninja Gaiden Plus they are getting Conker:Live and Reloaded, Half Life 2, and Farcry in the summer. People will use the new XBox Live system even if there is a fee because the original service surpassed most people's expectations so they know that XBox 360's online service won't disssapoint either. Take my word for it, it will have much more features and more revolutionary technology than Nintendo or Sony has to offer. I will come back to this thread when all the systems are out if I have to. Now take out every shooting, racing, and sports game from that list and you will be left with a few good games. The fact is, xbox is the worst system out of the three for comming out with innovative gaming ideas. Every game is the same... Shooting... Racing... Racing while shooting... then who knows how many football games that are all relatively the same. Where are the RPGs on the Xbox? Fable. Whooo and hooo... Gamecube has the best variety of RPG's: Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, Final Fantasy CC, Paper Mario, etc. Ps2 comes in second just because of FF series, and honestly after FF 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 11, Tactics, and all the others, it's getting pretty old. You can't just say they are all bad or linear in 1 post when you probably have not played them all. What was so bad about Grabbed by the Ghoulies? So they took a different approach to video games, it doesn't make the game bad. Katamari Demanchie, anyone? Jesselt, a game being innovative doesn't mean its good. Remember that. And I guess I should of seen this comming, being on a Runescape board and all. Your judging XBox because of low quanitity of RPG's? Since I "mastered" the S-Type controller on the XBox by playing Halo:Combat Evolved alot, now it feels better than the mouse. Most FPS's have great control on the XBox like Halo, DOOM 3, and Unreal Championship 2. Those aren't the only good RPG's, those are the well-known RPG's on XBox. I myself am not a huge RPG gamer so I do not know much about the titles available on XBox, but the 5 big ones are KOTOR 1 and 2, Fable, Jade Empire, and Phantasy Star Online. I don't know anything about Jade Empire, but as for Fable: The idea of being able to have your character go good or evil is a very good idea, but the battle system couldn't even be called "good" IMO. Yeah, thats why I bought an XBox. FPS's, because I have had bad computer luck in the past and expenses are insane. Then I discovered how XBox did more than 1 genre well. The graphics were also a bit better than my other consoles IMO. Fable has a similiar combat system to the Zelda's on N64. And has some really awesome features (like obeying the law in the city, owning houses, getting married, etc.) I agree with you though, each console has better genres. Your completly right, since you don't think the MP maps are great, the whole Multiplayer feature must be garbage. The maps are fine, I have played tons of FPS's (only genre I am really interested in) and maps like Zanzibar, Turf, Containment, and Lockout are some of the best I have ever seen. Time Splitters Future Perfect has nothing new other than a decent map maker. Its fun for a while, but gets stale and has linear gameplay. So Forza isn't much even though you have not even played it? Wow. Just wow. Reread that sentence if you don't understand what you posted. http://www.gamerankings.com , a website that averages most review websites/shows and Forza has 94.8% is pretty damned good. Infact, with that score, I wouldn't be surprised if Forza Motorsport wins game of the year award from alot of review sites. All Tom Clancy's games suck? They are for people who are into more realistic shooters and usually have great single player, multiplayer, and graphical features. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them bad games. Lastly, I completly disagree with you posting that XBox has the most RPG's yet they are the crappiest. I find that PS2 has the most and XBox has the least. And lately, XBox's RPGs have kicked [wagon]. Jade Empire, awesome experience. Fable, really innovative (as Nintendo likes to overuse the innovative word), and a unique experience you cannot have with any other game. Its a great game. KOTOR series, arguebly the best Star Wars based games ever. You can manipulate your sorroundings and it has an amazing storyline. Phantasy Star Online, the first MMORPG on a console. In any case, some sites seem to claim the Xbox 360 uses three CPU cores each running at 3.2ghz. Whether this would outdo the Cell, which is also a multicore processor, isn't something that can be told by statistics. It actually appears to be an old argument continued on this thread about the old systems... what with the "fanboy" insults on every post really seems to make this a "bad argument" as opposed to what you would say a "good discussion". Albeit you do talk about the xbox 360 every now and then, the comments on this system seem to be put there just to make the argument look fairly on topic. Anyway, just to start things off here, I strongly consider everyone on this board who has said that any, whether it be one or many, games on the XboX 360 are going to suck is an Ignorant jerk. My question to them is, How the hell do you know what the games are like before they've been released? Its likewise on all the other systems. There is nothing, nothing at all that gives anyone the right to say that a game or system that hasn't been released yet is gong to suck. Trackrecords arent god people. Each of the respected systems have there titles of honor, Zelda and Super Smash Brothers on Gamecube, Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy on PS2, Halo and Morrowind for Xbox. Now, my personal opinion on Singal System ONLY (NOT CROSS SYSTEM) games would have to be- Shooter- Halo, the Tom Clancy games if they suite you, Racing- Gran Turismo Adventure- Zelda, Jade Empire RPG- The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, KoTOR series (sadly, these are prtty much the only RPG's Xbox has, Besides Fable. But no one wants to talk about him. Puzzel- Never played a puzzel game. Sports- Everthings avialible one every system it seems. Action- Ninja Gaiden/ Devil May Cry (haven't played the later, just word of mouth) Fighting- Virtua Fighter 4 (or was it 5?) Horror- Resident Evil 4 (or was it 5? the new on) Misc.- Has to go to Grand Theft Auto, despite the thing abotu the series going from PS2 only, to PS2 and Xbox, to eventually Xbox only. That is where my personal standings go. And no, I have not played every game, I can be wrong. I realize that. I'll listen to intellegent posts here. Not Flames. WHAT YOU SAY?!? (schfifty five!) all right, you better prove that to me. because i KNOW FOR A FACT that the next actual GTA game is coming out for PS3 (the one coming out for PSP is kind of an in-between game, that just tests out PSP's power and gets some extra revenue, like the game boy advance one if i remember correctly). the only reason XBOX is alive is because of all the added features it has, and because of the small amount of *GOOD* games it has, like halo2 and some tom clancy games and such. XBOX360 will change that and make it a bit more popular, but i definitely dont doubt that PS3 will eventually outrank it...because thats just how it happens, whether you like it or not. Yeah, both systems will have some downsides, but oh well (unless you buy both). 360 is lookin pretty good, lets hope they actually let some game companies make games for XBOX this time around. Bet now everyone is gonna say "omg ps3 ownz xbox 360" welll excuse me but which was least powerful now? And which sold more than xbox and gamecube together? It's all about timing. I would get ps3 but I don't want to wait 1+ years when I can get 360 which is very similar when it comes to specs at the end of this year. Also it's GPU RSX @ 550MHz --1.8 TFLOPS floating point Performance according to gamespot. Which will invariably look awful. Even if you can afford an HDTV it will still be inferior to PC monitors available. 1600x1200 in all games FTW.
