September 2, 201312 yr Did you ever read the original story? In the original story Pinocchio runs away as soon as he learns to walk. He is caught by an official and Gepetto is jailed as they assume he has been mistreating Pinocchio. He then returns to Gepetto's house and kills a talking cricket who tries to warn Pinocchio against being disobedient. Pinocchio then falls asleep with his feet on the stove and they burn off.
