free to play fletching?

if f2p had fletch then theyd need to introduce magic trees to f2p which means you introduce camelot and members places so on so on.. for f2p which makes it impossible in my opinion

It has already been mentioned that only a limited fletching skill is being asked for here, therefore magic trees wouldnt be needed.

The f2p fletching would just need some flax fields somewhere on the map and thats it, as far as i know.

Of course, as a f2per with no experience of fletching im slightly biased, but i dont see much argument against f2p except the one i stated above and the typical "YOU DONT PAY SO YOU DONT GET!" mindlessness.

but whats the point people might aswell pay for the whole thing

When you put it in that perspective, it actually makes it sound reasonable. I don't think Jagex would ever make a P2P skill F2P, but if they did maybe make everything members except bows up to willow? But also, how do you get bowstrings? :-k

Lets see...

>To make a bow you'll need the log to make the body(f2p can get that), the flax for the string(f2p can't get flax on f2p areas). Therefor no fletching of bows for f2p.

>To make arrows you'll need the log for the shafts (f2p can get that), feathers for the tail (f2p can get that), some metal bars for the heads (f2p can't smith that). Therefor no fletching of arrows for f2p.

>To make crossbows you'll need logs for the stock (f2p can get that), sinew for the string (f2p can't cook sinew), metal bars for the limbs(f2p can't smith limbs). Therefor no making crossbows for f2p.

>To make bolts you'll need metal bars for the bolts (f2p can't smith bolts), feathers for the tail (f2p can get that), gem tips (f2p can only get 4). Therefor no making of bolts for f2p.

>To make darts you'll need metal bars for the tips (f2p can't smith dart tips), feathers for the tail (f2p can get that). Therefor no dart making for f2p.

For fletching to work in f2p you'll need to change a lot of skills and item availability. Therefor this suggestion is not very good or viable because JAGEX would have to change a lot of things in the game for fletching to be usable in f2p.

So this idea gets a NO from me. This is asking way too much for something free. Furthermore if you can't make money to buy your arrows then don't become a ranger.

All the originator wanted to make was arrows, so it would only take a few minor changes...

However, I am not sure if this idea would work out so well... Members would get angry, non-members would get greedy... I think this should probably be avoided.

Not really. Implementing a lot of the stuff would be easy to do.

>To make a bow you'll need the log to make the body(f2p can get that), the flax for the string(f2p can't get flax on f2p areas). Therefor no fletching of bows for f2p.

They could just implement a few flax plants somewhere in f2p.

The smithing menu in f2p and members is the same. They just have to activate said items on the menu so they would work.

I don't know much about making crossbows since i haven't played for a while. But it shouldn't be hard to put in the game either.

THe only reason i see why f2p doesn't have fletching is because jagex has said they WILL NEVER DO IT.

They have? Anyways, I've gone through these threads many times. My opinion has changed throughout that time. I've come to an agreement that I don't agree with, and most P2Pers will not agree with, but we hopefully will not get as mad...

Only have up-to-willow-bows-available-and-if-possible-limit-F2P-to-level-50-and-add-a-new-flax-field-on-Crandor-despite-the-unrealism.

Like it? No arrows, no crossbows, no bolts. No 99 F2P fletchers, no low-leveled players picking flax for money, no easy flax-collecting.

well I support but only for the arrows and only up to adimint. without makeing bows we wouldent have a great source of mony makeing and without the ability to make rune arrows f2p would still be well behind members in the art of fletching. so all would be balanced and we wouldent have to pay a fourtune for our arrows. therefore rangers would be made more equial to the other classes on f2p worlds.

sure, it'd be quite difficult to level, but the skill is still there, and will help the restore the arrow market (shafts and feathers were twice as much as they are now before the c-bow update.)
