Lt_Surge
Hey all, I'm Tkd. But enough of the introduction, I just want to know if Guthan's armour is worth it for slayer. I currently fish or steal to get some food, but it takes forever. Also, how can I afford it? My runecrafting is 44, but that's so... Boring... Not as good money as it used to be, either. When I see people say it, I pronounce it "poon" in my head. Makes more sense to me. My friend said it in real life once and I almost kneed him in the family-maker.$DO || ! $DO ; trytry: command not found
bongo_man
its definitely worth it in the long run, youll be saving millions on food. best way to get guthans is hunting imo [If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]
Knight_Zaros
I have no problem buying what I want do to some investments made years ago. However my best overall combat purchase has been buying guthans. I love it, its defensive bonuses are beat only by torags (just the legs I believe). And its healing ability definitly pays off. For just training or slayer. Thing I love about slayer and guthans is with slayer sometimes you dont know what your getting into, but guthans gives you that ability to make up for lost food, etc. With it I always manage to do my tasks in one trip. Which saves alot of time as well. Some people harp on the cost to repair. Well i guess i may just never notice it much, but its good for 15hrs of CONSTANT combat. So I think its cost will more that out weigh the food you may have bought, or the time spent doing multiple trips and getting your own food. mr_emflum
Guthans is 100% recomended for slayer from me. It is a life saver (literally). To get cash I would say just continue to do slayer with food but make sure you get it yourself. Save your money and do all the clues you get. If you want to do something else to speed things up I would say do some Hunting. PRIVATE CHAT ON My BlogDragon Drops:2 Chains, 4 Meds, 1 2H, 2 Left Halves, 2 Legs, 1 SkirtRate My Bank! Lt_Surge
This is good and all, but my hunter is only 42, so no ghinchompas for me. Also, I don't even have two million gp. From slayer, wouldn't it take ages to get the eight million I need for Guthan's? Although, I could get a lucky clue... Third age? Well, I wouldn't sell the melee (plate or legs), but the rest=Guthan's... When I see people say it, I pronounce it "poon" in my head. Makes more sense to me. Olbritishchap
You could try barrowing, good money and there's a chance you'll get a piece of guthans.

Psh, with my skill at barrowing, all I do is lose tons of money... I need a good technique, since I use five prayer pots per run, or one chest. I also seem to lose runes... Dexek
Guthans is definitely worth it for most slayer tasks. Of course it probably isn't too smart to take it vs. tasks when you can't wear the full set (most slayer monsters & dragons), or tasks that use magic based attacks, such as Bloodvelds or Jellies. With a Dharok combo Guthans can be very effective vs. most tasks. Fire giants especially. Also, using high defensive or offensive armour for training and Guthans for only healing could prove effective if you are low on cash for repairs. joker202
I went from 65 to 81 slayer with 500k worth of monks. IMO guthans is a waste and way to slow.
inoskedyou
Its very worth it, Guthans allows me to do my tasks in one trip. It also saves me the bordum of fishing Monks every week.

iwontpk
Well it really depends. I don't use my guthans very much, except the body. I usually use monkfish, as the time you spend using guthans is horrible xp. I am only level 96 cb, so maybe on tasks from shile it is worth it (bigger numbers) but I just hate how slow guthans is. transcript80
Yes, guthans is worth it IMO. Especially on creatures that have lots of stackable/alchable drops. The only thing I leave the area for is banking, and this way, you only use up 4 inventory spaces for healing. As said before, DO NOT take it when fighting critters that use magic based attacks, or creatures that require worn slayer equipment in one of the barrow armour spaces. I took it yesterday to slay some cave horrors, ended up in wearing it constantly and running off to get some food since they hit me so often, the set could never heal me enough. If you only use it to heal you, coin drops from the slayer monsters ALONE pay up for the repairs. I have had the set for I think 5 slayer levels now, and I'm still down to 25% still! No repairs thus far! Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
