It's been a long time since the Champion's Challenge mini-quest (as classed by Tip.It) was released, and still there are no updates. No longer! This is just a bit of a minor update - 12 more Champions to test your mettle against.

 

 

 

Just a couple of things, first the Major Champion of this update (Elves) is unchallengeable until all 20 Minor Champions are defeated. That means that Leon De Cour may be left unslain, but the other 10 already existant and the 10 from this update must be killed

 

Also, there's this foolish one called Foozle, who looks just like you. You do not have to defeat this Champion to challenge the other Champions!

 

 

 

Foozle, the Champion of Fools (Major Champion - 15 champions must be defeated before miniquest to access can be started)

 

Level: Same as Yours - Whatever style you use

 

Special: No Healing, Time Limit (if you fail to kill/be killed in time limit, you must try again after 7 days)

 

"(No Challenge Scroll)"

 

Wields: Rubber Chicken, Reindeer Hat (accesses its true power), and uses a Dragon Plate throwing attack. In other words, he is like a less sensible twin!

 

 

 

Eldred Y'yuthan, the Champion of Elves (Major Champion)

 

Level: 165 - Ranged/Maged

 

Special: No Melee, Obstacles

 

"Youngling, you have challenged many and won against many. Now let us see your faith in your weaponry truly!"

 

 

 

Ghost Host (Ghost Champion) (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 67 - Mage/Melee

 

Special: No Armour, No Prayer

 

"Prepare to see what your Gods are capable of, mortal"

 

 

 

Ice Warrior Champion (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 102 - Melee

 

Max Hit: 9

 

Special: No Magic, No Special Attacks

 

"Come to the champion's guild, human, and face your own nuclear winter!"

 

 

 

Spider Queen (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 43 - Melee (dagger speed)/Poison (each 4 rounds)

 

Max Hit: 4, Poison: 5

 

Special: No Food/Drinks, No Weapons

 

"Be thankful that the protein from your deathmeal shall fuel the next generation of spiderlings!"

 

 

 

Ork High Chieftain (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 134 - Melee

 

Special: No Movement, no healing

Spirit Triad (Minor Champions)

 

Levels: 50 (Mage), 50 (Range), 55 (Melee)

 

Special: Challenging 3 opponents at once

 

"We Three from beyond the veil has send you there!"

 

NOTE: This is Spiritual Creatures and not ghosts etc

 

 

 

Personification of Mind (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 78

 

Special: No Minimap, No Type of attack for more than 3 rounds in a row

 

"You will regret meddling in Tolna's Dream"

 

NOTE: This is a Champion from A Soul's Bane's monsters. If you use a type of attack (range, mage, melee) for more than 3 times in a row, this champion will de-equip it for another 3.

 

 

 

Broodoo Master (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 130

 

Special: No Prayer, No Magic

NOTE: This monster has a chance of giving you the Diesease, Poison, and Stat effects.

 

 

 

Black Knight Titan (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 120

 

Special: No Prayer

 

"I remember you..."

 

NOTE: This has the same stats as 'The Holy Grail's Black Knight Titan, only this guy has full Black Armour instead of that chain and legs you saw. He will also actually look like a humungous Black Knight with a flail which hits like a Rune Scimitar

 

 

 

Scorpion King (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 80

 

Special: Nothing from Inventory, No Weapons

 

"Cool Down man! You'll face me soon!"

 

 

 

Swarm Hivebrother (Minor Champion)

 

Level: 150

 

Special: Nothing

 

"Bzzz!"

 

NOTE: This is gained by killing Kalphites EXCEPT THE QUEEN. He has 3 forms - a flying, walking and hidden (invisable) one.

It's a suggestion, posted in the suggestion board for creative input and feedback. And I don't really see the point in posting that you see no point. He is posting a serious and good formulated addition to the game. So please, if you got nothing better to say, stay silent. Yeah? :)

I like this idea, but challenge scrolls need to be slightly easier to obtain...I have still yet to get one...

I disagree, I would be angry on Jagex if they make Champion scrolls easire to obtain.. :wall:

It sounds like a reasonable and well thougght out idea. And, I guess some players could use this, although I don't know, i'm not a member.

And the Scrolls are meant to be difficult to get - We're not talking about 'Kill this many and you get to challenge the higher level versions' but 'Kill this many and you get to fight the CHAMPION of the race. And anyway, the rewards do eventually make the entire thing well worth it'

 

 

 

This is an update for the simple fact that I feel Jagex has abandoned the entire 'Champion of Champions' theme. Its been, like 2 years and a half since we last had an update for it apart from the Monster Graphic Upgrades (of course), and this is not good enough. Thus this suggestion

 

 

 

And if you're unhappy with this suggestions uses, then just think: It's not for any practical use (as far as I can see) - its for some diversity and some challenge. Because not every challenge a melee player takes has to be a Boss Monster (well, a Boss Monster as in KBD, Jad, or Queen, of course)

How about you get something special to wear to show you have beaten this many champions? As of now, nobody knows if you are a Champion of Champions.

I thought about being able to put trophies into your Skill/Quest Room in your house. Or even just heads on sticks

Foozle is in a chamber somewhere in Runescape. You speak to him there to be challenged by him, and then return to the guild

Pretty good suggestion, but maybe that when you kill a monster, it drops a piece of armour that you can't get anywhere else.

 

Not extraordinary stats, just the same stats as addy-rune, but just to show off: "I killed ___".

Hey, a few new champions would be nice, though I never seriously got into Champion's Challenge (or is that...Chumpion?)

 

As for showing off who've you've beaten, I'm thinking....CONSTRUCTION UPDATE! *runs off to plot*

I think the lack of updates for the Champions mini-game stems from the fact that it's incredibly rare to be challenged in the first place.

 

I've been playing RS for 4 years now, and I've yet to recieve even one challenge let alone all 12 (granted I've probably only played for one year).

 

Still, I think you'd be hard pressed to find multiple people with all the challenges completed.

Nice idea, ive been lucky to get 2 scrolls, and i like that mini-game.

we've got the rat pole, why can't there be a similar item displaying which ones you have killed already, like a helm with 2 different colors of plume if you've killed the goblin there would be a green part and the other part would be empty, and if you killed the hobgoblin an orange part would come too. but if you'd kill the hobgoblin first the orange part would be there and no green part yet.

I quite like this idea, Champ scrolls are definatley too rare for it to be effective though.
