Reboot into safe mode.

Run Adaware and remove everything it finds.

Do to same with Spybot.

And while you're at it, proceed to scan with your antivirus in Safe mode aswell.

And stop surfing insecure websites on IE :?

Try using Spyware Doctor. It detects pretty much every kind of malware you can think of. Keyloggers, spyware, trojans, viruses, hijacks, ect. It also acts as a firewall, and protects you from all theese things, and restricts your access to sites that it knows are bad news (it has a list of sites that are known bad sites). Unfortunatly, the trial version does not remove the stuff from your computer, just detects them. But, it gives you the directory of the folder/registry folder it is in, so you can manually delete them. Yeah, did i mention it detected those registry values that keep having the stupid program reinstall itself after you delete it? Nope, i didn't, it detects those too.

You might want to run adaware first, and have it remove everything it can find (because having to manually remove that many things can be a serious pain), then run spyware doctor to see if it can find some things that adaware can't.

how exactly will safge mode do anything?

Maby stop a few backdoor santas, but nothing much else.

I'd say unplug your internet instead of "safe mode"

I'll stop any spyware from loading so it can be deleted. It could also do the same for some trojans/viruses
