Dust Devils *Urgent*

I need help with what to take to dust devils.

Could I melee them efficiently and what would be a good setup?

Are they good charm droppers?

What is the drop rate for a dragon chain?

Thanks,

Yes you can melee them, just bring your usual fighting gear but make sure you wear the Slayer Helm or Facemask.

Drop loads of Crimsons in the Chaos Tunnels only. The ones in the well don't drop as many.

Bring bones to peaches runes as you cannot use Guthans to heal.

Bring alchemy runes as they drop lots of alchable items.

Dragon chain is rare. Don't bother going just for this.

If I do go to chaos tunnels, I have a few questions.

1. are the entrance locations random?

2. are all monsters aggressive?

3. would i need to bring any different items to get past said monsters?

1) No, the entrances stay the same. You should be entering the one nw of edgeville, west of the zamorak mage that leads to gargolyes. Then pass the mummies and the zamorak mages and bam, you're there.

2) The dust devils aren't agressive but the monsters on your way ther like gargolyes and mummies are agressive.

3) Nah, just run. If you're really feeling insecure, then pray melee while going down.

I'd guess maybe 3-4k? Probably not correct though.

I reccomend praying melee as you run through the mummy room. They can hit 21s and below. They've hit me a few times through torags and 94 defense at the time.

Yeah melee works about the best.

Helm - Facemask

Cape - Best

Amulet - Best

Weapon - Whip/SS/GS

Plate - Bandos > Barrows > Dragon > Rune

Legs - Bandos > Barrows > Dragon > Rune

Gloves - Best

Boots - Dragon

Ring - Berserker, Warrior, or Wealth

Bring alchs, Bones to peaches runes or tabs, chisel, super sets (2 or 3) or Pure sets and excalibur for special, DDS if you don't use excalibur.

They are pretty good charm droppers, the most common being crimson (although gold is almost equal).

The drop rate for a dragon chain is about 1:19,000

Are they really worth doing if they are not a slayer task and would it be better to train on other monsters?

Yeah they drop a fair few runes and alchable stuff. Easy to kill and with bones to peaches you can stay forever if you so choose. Plus you have the dragon chain as a possibility.

However if you are going there soley for a dragon chain I would advise against it. If you want melee XP without slayer then you are not going to be disappointed if you don't get a chain.
