Caxis
I'm not sure how much bandwidth Runescape uses, but I highly doubt it'd be anything over 100MB a month. Is anyone downloading files via bit torrent, limewire, etc? That can really add up. If not, do you have a wireless connection? If so, it may not be encrypted and someone is mooching off your wireless signal, and you have to pay.

green9090
You only download when Runescape updates, and that typically is in the low megabytes. In short, Runescape is NOT responsible for your bandwidth usage. Oathkeeper
unlike everyone else here, i seem to believe the opposite. Though not 4GB/Months, Runescape does seem to use more DL then the few MB every update. Before i got a better plan we were stuck on 400MB/Month. We (by that i mean me playing this) downloaded about 600MB a month. So i estimate Runescape (playing about 2 hours a day average) uses 300MB a month. I dont only use my computer for runescpe lol. SO does runescpe use any 'bandwidth'(if thats right :P) while your just playing or is it just the updates? SwordKing
Ofcourse it uses bandwith. All data sent and received over the internet uses Bandwith, I can't believe you guys only think it's the updates. Yes, the updates use some bandwith, but all chat ingame also use bandwith. Every action you do gets sent to the servers, although this data is very, very small, it adds up after a while. In short: (almost?) everything you do on Runescape gets sent to the RS servers, and brings you back data. So yes, Runescape does use bandwith, but I'm not sure how much exactly. I could test it, but I don't have any programs installed atm.

Runescape, straight Runescape, does not download that much. I can say with relative certainty that you were using your Internet for things besides Runescape, and that those were primarily responsible for your bandwidth usage. Magik_Us3r
Runescape uses about 1MB an hour of playing, and then a little more when updates come out (on HD)

SwordKing
Just so you know, browsing these forums uses way more bandwith than playing RuneScape.

Sy_Accursed
As many others have said it is true that runescape uses bandwidth. But each ingame action probably uses only like 3 bytes, when updated ur probably loking at maybe 500kb in data and at a few bytes per action ur looking at not more than 1mb in a day So all in all palying rs doesn't eat up bandwidth that fast. Hell we used to have a 500mb a month limit and i used to play rs like 8 hours day during that summer and we never went over the limit Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
