Well I got bored and decided I would replicate one of the buildings in Runescape. I don't know which building I will do yet :P but here is my test wall. I wanted to get you guy's opinions on it and here is exactly what I would like you to answer when giving CC on it...

 

 

 

Do the color patterns match in line with the color pattern in the game?

 

 

 

Does the wall look like the walls in the game? Like depth and stuff like that.

 

 

 

I know this aren't the right colors but this is just a test wall as I said before. Here it is...

I think it's too perfect, I think you should add some scratches and possibly multiple rock shapes so it doesn't look like a perfect wall. It probably look like that in game, haven't been on for a while so I can't remember.

 

 

 

It's a really good model just a bit "too" perfect (IMO), Good job.

I really wouldn't know whether it's accurate or not, but I'd say it looks decent. Though I agree with Julius that it's a bit too perfect for a medieval-ish wall.

Well I just logged on and I'm about to do barrows but I noticed something! :P Depending on what kind of building or wall you're looking at in the game the patterns differ from each one. In general though the colors stay the same on all the stuff in the selected city. I'll have to fix that on my next test ;)

Nice colours as well.

Not to put you down, but it's really basic. You're probably trying to copy runescapes style, which I understand, but there isn't much work done into it right now.

Hmmm... well seeing as how it is a 3D model (I think) I would just add a small normal map to it to get rid of the "perfection" and it would be spot on.

Ya it's 3d, this was all just a test to see if I could get the general style and feel of the game ;)

Sorry to double post but how do you guys like the new wall compared to the old one? To much wear and tear or not enough?

It's OK, but it seems to me that it's made out of metal rather than stone. Try making it look more rocky. Maybe less flat too. Also, maybe put in some white around the edges of the stone so it looks like mortar around it.

I'm trying to make it look like Runescape not real life :P I'll mess around with it more and post another picture here in a bit ;)

Looks nice and the texture is quite cool. It is meant to be RuneScape graphics so don't over-do it
