New Grunge sig...C/C please (I'm looking at Julius :P)

Featured Replies

Here is a grunge sig i did. I personally quite like it, one of my better sigs.

Tell me what needs improving, the good bits, the bad and I'll probably change it.

Here it is....

I personally quite like it, but i'd like you guys opinion.

i give it 9/10 the effects are nice but only thing would be the render isnt the best quality maybe try sharpening it

I think the render is too dark in comparison with the bg, although this gives some contrast and makes the signature less boring.

Maybe try blending it more on the left side, it's blended right at the right side, but the left doesnt seem to have blending.

I like it other than the things mentioned above :)

It's a bit dark in my opinion. I think you did a pretty decent job blending the render in to the background, the left side is somewhat boring as it's so much space there. Overall it's a pretty decent signature.

Things that you could improve:

Better smudging/blending.

Lighter? the signature is very dark.

The text (It's "Eeky").

Use a C4D for to fill up the empty space?

Try making smaller signatures as it's a lot easier.

It could use some lightning (Brush white with a low opacity brush on a new layer).

Colours, well it's chicken yellow and the background should be darker then the render, hard on this render as it's a lot of black parts on it.

Better render placement and resize? Use the rule of thirds (I'm worse than you on that), you placed it on 3/4.

Bad flow, you used a motion blur to the left right? the flow of the render is "<^"

1 word sharpen.

Bold parts should be looked over, the others are optional really, depends on the render/background etc.

Bolded parts should be looked over.

Looks quite ok, blending and effects are decent and the background isn't too bad (although I'm not a big fan of the colour). The render is indeed quite dark, making it hard to see some of the details on it. Also, the text definitely needs changing, both the placement and the font just don't go with the rest of the image.

Overall, not a bad job.

hmm i like the colours but it seems a bit too bland, spicen it up with a c4d that flows or something. Use some more blending like brushwork and smudgework :)

I like your style though, maybe add some grudge brushes in the background?

I need some more brushes. The ones you were talking about...You got them for GIMP?

I was thinking of lightning up the render and adding a C4D. The problem is...I'm no good with C4D's + I have to go to school #-o

Any suggestions?

Oh forgot you use the Gimp :?.

Try changing the opacity and layer modes when you use them.

No matter. I'll try changing the opacity, and add some blending and a C4D when i get home. Any recommendations for the C4D?

I'll go on planetrenders when i get back...
