63-69 smithing, best way for making cash

Featured Replies

I only need 69 smithing to start the new quest. So i want to know the best way to smith while making money, or breaking even.

I did this for crafting-buy staffs+Air orbs off GE, alched them and made 500gp each time.

I want to do something like that.

Are steel P8's any good? I havn't cheaked the GE in a while.

Though they have dropped in price, buy iron at around 100ea, make knives and sell at 35ea. Make about 75gp a bar, also Iron is the best exp per ore

I'm pretty sure that iron has best xp cause it has 50% chance of making it.

If i do do that, will the cost of the forge rings end up in me paying?

I would reccomend buying steel bars or the supplies for steel bars and making cannonballs. It is slow but it is a nice profit.

If you are a p2p so can you make cannonalls! You can make alot of money on that!

98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you are open-minded put this in your signature.

Make money another way then blow it on steel bodies or mith bolts or whatever.

This is even faster than iron knives or cannonballs... -.-

Cannonballs is definitely the best way if you want to make money while smithing. However, you can mine and superheat mithril in the guild, then walk to the anvils by the pick shop, make them into mithril 2-h (or something that requires an even higher level to make) and alch them right there. Then go back to the mining guild and start again!

You make money, even buying all the natures, last time I checked.

EDIT: As another option, you could make them into mithril bolts too (or arrow heads, etc.) if you wanted, as those all stack, so again you never have to leave. Idk if this will make the same profit though. Check the GE prices.

I would have to agree that making cannonballs is the best "good" method of making money from Smithing. :ohnoes:

Cannonballs/iron knives

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

I'd recommend cannonballs over knives. The price of iron knives has dropped down recently, probably due to the market being flooded by people trying to get lvl 69 smithing. When the quest came out knives were 35 gold each, last weekend they had dropped to 29 each on the GE.

I would also recommend using some of the cannonball profit to subsidize the cost of making steel platebodies, so that you can level faster. As well, don't forget the blast furnace as a cheaper option for levelling up.

Cannonballs or iron knives, everything else other than smelting ores loses money.

Use Rings of Forging with iron btw, it helps tremendously.
