June 28, 200818 yr Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've logged onto RuneScape and I've noticed there's a new mini-game called Fist of Guthix. I was reading the guide on this site and I had a few questions: What type of combat are you allowed to use if you are the hunter? Is it melee, range, or magic? Do you get to choose? If so, what's the most advantageous to use? Also, I noticed that this game was labeled as "low-risk". What exactly does this mean? I assume this means you can't die or lose any items what-so-ever, but I wasn't sure. If you lose against your opponent, do they get any of your items? And one last question: are you supposed to go out there with a friend, or does the game automatically pair you up with another player? Thank you! Retired Member
June 28, 200818 yr 1.All combat can be used. You get runes in the waiting room (Not sure if you get arrows). The most advantageous would be melee/mage combo. 2.The term low risk means, when you die, you won't lose any items. 3.The game automatically pairs you to a random player while in the waiting room.

I'm in agreement. To add to that, you can't use magic when you're being hunted. So, you can't use bind spells to slow down your hunter.

As the hunted fighting is pretty muhc impossible/pointless the stone you have to wield is 2h and if u put it away u stop getting charges. However you can cast vengance, cure posion and dream from the the lunar spell book if you want to aid yourself a little Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
June 28, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the replies! I probably should've added that I'm F2P, so I won't be able to cast any of the lunar spells. What kind of equipment set-up is recommended to use? I read that wearing full armor would slow you down a lot even though it provides the best defense. Would Dragonhide armor be preferable? Retired Member
June 28, 200818 yr I usually wear dragonhide for when I'm hunted and then a mage boosting alternative for when I'm hunting. Comes out at around 20kg I think. Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.
June 28, 200818 yr You will want to have the best defensive armour as the object of the game is to pretty much stay around as much as possible.
June 28, 200818 yr Hmm, I think you can restore run by standing in the pool in the middle, as hunter or hunted, not sure though.
June 28, 200818 yr Hmm, I think you can restore run by standing in the pool in the middle, as hunter or hunted, not sure though. the closer you get to the circle the faster your run energy replenishes, same with charges. closer you get more charges you get per green blobl thingy :P 99 attack-34,104th to 99 attack.
June 28, 200818 yr Any style of combat - typically, melee hits hardest (if you have high stats) but is easier to dodge than mage or range. Mage is popular, as you get free runes to cast any combat spell, so only an autocasting staff is needed. Rangers get free arrow collection, but still lose some in breakages. As for armour, the hunter has no need for defence, while the hunted will often find lightness an advantage, and cannot use a shield. Given the avaialbility of free runes, and quite a high chance of magic attack, D-hide is probably the best balanced armour for Fist of Guthix. Another thing to remember, you get a stat restore at the start of each round, so you can pray both rounds - protect from, rapid heal or the "skin" prayers as hunted, and your best attack/damage prayers as hunter. remember to turn prayer off when not actually in combat, other than rapid heal, which can be used to good effect to prop up hitpoints if you can spare the prayer points - you still lose some hitpoints to the arena, but about half as fast.

I was reading the guide on this site and I had a few questions: What type of combat are you allowed to use if you are the hunter? Is it melee, range, or magic? Do you get to choose? If so, what's the most advantageous to use? Range/mage all the way. i use dhide vambs and robes so i can range with mith arrows and bind effectively too. Also, I noticed that this game was labeled as "low-risk". What exactly does this mean? I assume this means you can't die or lose any items what-so-ever, but I wasn't sure. If you lose against your opponent, do they get any of your items? No you dont lose items to your opponent. Howeer you lose arrows if you range. And one last question: are you supposed to go out there with a friend, or does the game automatically pair you up with another player? Automatically pairs you up.
