You won't get speed an profit, though you can get slower speed but a bit of profit. The best XP is granite, though that is completely 0gp profit, and so is iron ore if you drop and mine. If you want to profit, your best bet would be just above yanille, as that is quite fast and gives some profit.

I would say mine iron until you can mine granite. Then do Enakrah's lament for a camulet. Take 1 waterskin, pickaxe, desert robes, dueling ring, and your camulet. Teleport to the mine with the camulet, and mine a full inventory of 500g granite. When you're done teleport to castlewars. Bank. Repeat.

Actually, granite (500g) is quite profitable as it is a summoning secondary and sells for 1.7kea.

exactly what i was thinking. even though it's a extremely tedious and hard work, you will enjoy the profit.

Yeah, its a pain to bank and get back, but if you stick with it, you can make quite a lot of money.

You might want to rethink your strategy. If you're raising your mining with the goal of the quest cape then you might want to be thinking ahead about the 69 smithing that you will need for the Rocking Out Quest. I'd recommend mining and banking large quantities of coal and mithril from the mining guild, and then iron from north of yanille. This should provide you with a good inventory in your bank as you continue to work towards that quest cape.

Of course, I forgot about that. I havn't mined granite since before summoning, and of course nobody wanted any then.
