July 10, 200818 yr This is the first annual (second ever) Rockstar Mayhem Tour. The four headlining bands are Slipknot, Disturbed, DragonForce, and Mastadon. There are more smaller bands that play on the two smaller stages, but I didn't see them because I prefered the four. July 10, 200818 yr It's not the Festival of Mayhem...it's called The Rockstar Mayhem Tour. And I'm going August 10th to Chicago to see it with some guys from my band. It's going to be a helluva good time. "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder."

July 10, 200818 yr why is it called the rockstar tour of mayhem??? :? Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.
July 10, 200818 yr wow that's really close to where I live (about 20 minutes away) maybe I'll go august 8th
July 11, 200818 yr Author why is it called the rockstar tour of mayhem??? :? Its sponsered by Rockstar energy drinks, and they named it the tour of mayhem because of the bands that play there. Oh, is Mayhem one of the smaller bands playing? No they just think it's badass to call it Rockstar Mayhem Tour. A lot of the bands are mainstream "badass". July 11, 200818 yr Author Yeah, I should clarify, its called that because of the TYPE of bands that play there. July 17, 200817 yr Yay Dragonforce. [/sarcasm] Eurgh. Dragonforce. Bad recordings layered atop one another to sound okay, really horrible to hear live. The other bands sound like fun, though. Being immature is a part of being mature.
July 18, 200817 yr I went to the San Diego show on the 16th. I had VIP backstage passes too  Most amazing show I've ever been to. It was so much fun. I got some really good pictures too from backstage, I'll edit this and put them up later. edit: [hide=Mayhem pics] Terrible picture of me haha. I hadn't slept in days when I took this pic. (it was just before the show started) Mastadon (The first band to come on) This is where we stayed for most of the show backstage. Here's Dragonforce (who was surprisingly pretty good and we got to meet them afterward) When Disturbed came on we decided to jump in the crowd and mosh a bit so this pic is taken from the crowd This is when Slipknot first came out (They kicked us off of the stage because during Slipknot's performance there was going to be like pyro effects that we couldn't be near). Slipknot again After the show me and my friend met with ZP (Dragonforce) and talked to him for like an hour. He is an amazing guy and got us so many hook-ups after the show. We went into his bus and saw the rest of the DForce crew and then afterwards he got us into this BBQ that they were having where all the performers from the Festival went and just hung. We got to hang out with a bunch of drunk rockstars for like an hour or two haha it was awesome. Picture I took with my camera phone of David Draiman (Disturbed) Haha funny story about this picture but long story short, but long story short some guy told me that this security guard (who looked almost EXACTLY like James Hetfield) was James Hetfield and that he wasn't signing any autographs tonight. Well anyway I ended up making a fool of myself trying to take a picture with him haha, ends up he was just David Draimans bodyguard or something....(I still think it's James Hetfield but ah well.[/hide]
July 18, 200817 yr By the time I heard about this all the ones near me (or even in my state, California) were over or already sold out :[ Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.
August 11, 200817 yr Just got back from the Chicago show on Sunday. Actually we left Friday night from my town, drove 7 hours, got there, didn't sleep for 48 straight hours until this morning at 8am haha. Anyways, all the bands were pretty good except for Suicide Silence. That band really blows. I was very surprised with Dragonforce though. Most people have told me how they really suck and how they slow stuff down and Herman Li isn't very good live, but holy crap they were tight as hell and believe me, they played it up to speed. Slipknot was pretty damn good especially since they only played 3 songs from Vol. 3 (Before I Forget, Duality, and The Blister Exists)and 1 song from the new one (Psychosocial). They went back to their first albums to play a brutal show. Songs included, People=[cabbage], Prosthetics, (sic), Get This, Surfacing, Heretic Anthem, and a few more that I can't seem to remember right now. It was a pretty good thing that they went back to their more...brutal roots. It gives me a pretty good feeling about the new album.
