July 22, 200817 yr And if your talking about voting history how about we talk about Obama's record of being the most liberal in the senate for 2007? Oh no? The point with McCain is that he's got in line with Bushes views on policies pretty much everytime, and since Bush was such a disaster people don't want a repeat. Regardless of Obama's voting record, he's different, which is what matters for the purpose of this argument. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
July 22, 200817 yr Haha, what's with the Arnold Schwarzenegger voice in the end of the video? The one talking about adding your head into the film :P [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.

Besides the war what policies that have been a disaster does he agree with? My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. July 23, 200817 yr Like what? Which policies exactly? Besides the war what policies that have been a disaster does he agree with? Iraq, McCain supported Bush's efforts to privatise Social Security, flip-flopped to align himself with the Bush tax cuts, supported No Child Left Behind, his health care plan is the same as Bush's and his voting record in 2008 was "100% with Bush" "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

July 23, 200817 yr I actually thought McCain was against waterboarding, what with being tortured himself. Edit: Actually, i'm not so sure. I know he regards it as torture, but I'm not sure if that actually means he's against it. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
July 23, 200817 yr He voted against the bill that would ban the United States from using it as an interrogation method. He was against torture, including waterboarding, in the debates, but he failed to show up when it came time to vote. The "maverick" voted right alongside Bush's thoughts on the issue.
July 23, 200817 yr Yeah reading it into it that's clear now, it's a shame, I thought that was one of his redeeming features. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Have you heard of the McCain detainee act? Where do you get your facts? The daily kos or moveon.org? Cool, a bill in 2005. It's 2008, and he voted against the waterboarding ban, and Bush vetoed the bill. The McCain Detainee Act also took a heavy brunt from the Supreme Court when they gave Habeas Corpus back to the prisoners. You can find these facts on any news site, or even http://www.loc.gov/index.html
July 24, 200817 yr I'm pretty sure i know the bill you're talking about. The one with the Feinstein amendment? The bill didn't ban waterboading it was only one provision of a bigger bill. That wasn't a waterboarding ban it would have required CIA and the FBI to operate by the army field manual. That is completely another thing, not to mention ridiculous. I would hardly say that makes him for waterboarding when he is one of the most vocal critics of it in the Senate. And I didn't have time to write a long answer earlier so... Veterans benefits Once again, getting a little too much of your info from keith olbermann. Do you honestly think that John McCain is against veterans benefits? The only reason he was against that bill was because it would have lowered retention in the military. He had introduced a competing bill that I think had more money and also wouldn't have hurt retention because people who serve longer would get more benefits. Of course Obama and the media either didn't take time to understand the issue or didn't care and just attacked him. Barack Obama just went on "exploiting a thoughtful difference of opinion to advance his own ambitions" And once an amendment was added that allowed the benefits to be transfered which would encourage longer service he supported it. vouchers I'd assume you mean school vouchers? Those are a good thing. off-shore drilling Good thing. flip-flopped to align himself with the Bush tax cuts Good thing. My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. These are the times that try mens souls...
July 24, 200817 yr He has a D+ rating for veterans benefits, he cares not for his fellow veterans because he thinks we're being too generous. I suppose I should listen to Sean Hannity or Dennis Prager? I don't watch Olbermann, as a matter of fact I don't watch tv at all. Any shows I like I watch online. News? I go to BBC or the Guardian. I'm not discussing those issues with you because there's no point, no conservative will agree with why vouchers are bad, why off-shore drilling is bad, or why the those tax cuts are bad.
July 24, 200817 yr Sure you don't. Didn't you post a video of some rant of his about Hillary Clinton a few months back? Anyway, he doesn't think we are being to generous it's that the bill would have hurt retention. After the amendment that would allow the benefits to be transfered which would help retention he supported it. And I'm pretty sure his bill had more money for veterans. How can you say he doesn't care for veterans? Does he hate his own sons? He probably beat them when they were babies. He wants to put poor baby alex in a wood chipper right? And no liberal will say offshore drilling is bad they just keep spouting the same made up garbage about unused leases and speculators. And how are the tax cuts bad? Raising the capital gains taxes for the purpose of "Fairness" even though it won't increase revenue is. My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. July 24, 200817 yr Yeah, I found that video on digg. And? I don't watch Olbermann. I think he's a self-righteous blow-hard leftist version of O'Reilly, albeit an intelligent one. Well, as far as I'm concerned, voting against Webb's GI bill is pissing on Veterans. He further pissed on them by trying to take the credit for the bill, despite his fierce opposition (which, was very small among both Republicans and Democrats). Off-shore drilling is bad, more drilling on-shore is bad, more drilling period is bad. People still don't realize the problem is the drilling itself that is the problem...and until that happens, I hope gas continues to rise. Trickle down economics are good for economic growth, but none of that growth is seen by the 90-95% of people who live here. Salaries haven't increased since Bush has been in office. It's even worse for the economic disparity gap.
July 24, 200817 yr Olbermann is hardly intelligent. How he has the audacity to call himself a journalist is beyond me. And I'm pretty sure McCain didn't vote on it at all. He was only against it because his bill was better. You hope gas continues to rise? Perfect liberal logic. Who cares about families that are hit hardest by high gas prices? Who cares about businesses or the price of goods? Same as Obama. He doesn't care about high prices, he just wishes they hadn't [bleep]ed(especially under the democratic congress). edit: You know the worst thing about olbermann? He thinks he's funny. July 24, 200817 yr The differences between the economics of the democrats and republicans are still very much contended, and so whilst you believe tax cuts might stimulate the economy in a recession (and I would agree), I would also contend that raising taxes during a boom period cools things off a bit, which Bush didn't seem to do. My point is it's not black and white (if you'll excuse the pun). "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
July 24, 200817 yr We are in a recession now. With the economy as the number one issue McCain should definitely pick Romney. That or Lieberman. He's probably begging to be vp since the democrats turned on him. If they pick up even 1 or 2 seats he's going to lose his committee. My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. These are the times that try mens souls...
July 25, 200817 yr Vote for Gay Penguin! (If he is running this year.) Otherwise, vote for Nader. :D Ah, who'm I kidding, The Old Guy will win. And then the middle of the road democrats will blame Nader for 'stealing' votes from their canidate and losing the elec... oh, wait, wrong year. McCain puts everyone to sleep, so most people will vote for him because they don't know what he supports, don't know what they support, and because he is such a change! Imagine, an old, white guy as president! There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

Your economy will bounce back better than Europe's, figures for late year growth rates have been revised for a more optimistic figure. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
July 25, 200817 yr Just to let you in, both Obama and McCain are liberals. Party makes no difference on left or right. According to their registered religions, they're not. It's all for the ratings. OT: Author's right, it does sum up the whole election  . In my opinion, McCain is the better candidate and should win. They're both sleazy politicians, but I just don't trust the new guys. Give it another term and he should be ready to run for president. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
July 25, 200817 yr Obama is the US version of Tony Blair. If this is true, America would do well to vote for him. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

I would love to see me some Romney get his [wagon] roasted by Joe in a debate. If it's someone like Huckabee or Jindal, I can settle for Richardson, where debating skills and exposing [cabbage] won't be as imminent.
July 26, 200817 yr Kinda unrealted. But BO is doing a WorldWide tour lately and I think he is in the UK soon. Anyone got dates? Places to see? Speechs? Done a quick search ealier but really didn't come up with much. As I would like to see him, just so I can say I have plus I think his a move in the right direction. 2 More things, what are his books like? And I wish that the UK parties would have websites saying excatly what they stand for like BO's website I went on today. Please click below to help with my ICT A Level, for which I have to monitor my website for 8 weeks, hits and feedback welcome. http://www.chauncystweb.co.uk/sm Feedback page now up and working.
July 26, 200817 yr Barack Obama world tour '08. Sold out crowds in Germany but not injured troops. And Joe Biden would not beat Romney in a debate. Romney was probably the smartest out of all candidates. Except for maybe...[hide=][/hide] My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet.
