What is an all-around good charm dropper?

There isn't one. I don't see why you would want golds and greens though- kill waterfiends for crimsons. Golds are very low exp and greens are a huge waste of money. Blues are dropped so little even by their best droppers (dark beasts, abberants, wallasalskis, gargoyles, and kalphite guardians if you're curious) that you'd be killing forever if you chose to level with them. Crimsons are a good compromise between high exp, affordability, and availability.

Waterfiends. Jagex should get rid of every charm and make every summon made of crimson. I mean gold, green, and blue are pointless...
Bah I really dont want to do waterfiends because I keep hearing about how you need to pray to do it effectively... I really dont like to pay to do anything (yes I know that wont get me anywhere but I just hate spending cash on prayer pots)

Bingo. Waterfiends drop enough nice stuff that you'll pay for your prayer pots anyway, just suck it up and kill them.

Oh man you're right. I didn't even look at his stats.

 

 

 

Stop killing things for charms other than crimson, and train slayer until your melees are in the 80s. Then it's waterfiend time.

Get 70+ range and 80+ all melee stats. Camp at greaters... but I wouldn't reccomend that either because of wild dogs. You can though, although the first 15 minutes will be annoying and you'll have to bank alot too.

 

 

 

Train slayer then kill dust devils. Then waterfiends.

I do Slayer for my Charms.

 

 

 

If you don't like Slayer:

 

Waterfiends for Crimsons or try Cockroach Soldiers if you want something simpler.

 

I like Daganoths for Golds but there are better droppers.

 

Kill Bork daily if you can.

I think he'd do fine at greaters. My stats are very simiilar to his and I did a task of 134 of them last week. I finished the whole task in one trip. I took a super set, slayer gem (I hate not knowing how may are left!), a teletab, and the rest pineapple pizzas. I had food left over and got quite a few charms, most of them crimson.

 

 

 

The dogs, however, are extremely annoying at first, but they do eventually settle down.

 

 

 

P.S. If he really wants golds, hellhounds drop tons. I'd estimate from every ten hellhounds I killed, I got 8 or 9 gold charms.

The reason I don't reccomend them if you read my post was because until 127 combat wild dogs can severly cut down on your kill rate.

You are correct about the dogs. However, I really didn't find them to be so much of a problem that I wouldn't recommend going there to him. They do stop eventually.

 

 

 

I honestly was surprised that the task turned out as well for me as it did. I had more than enough food to finish 134 in one trip - despite the dogs -- and if I remember correctly, I may have even received a charm or two from them. I think he'll be fine and it would be as good a place as any for him to get his melee stats up and get a few charms and rune full helms in the process....but that's just my opinion.

I actually decided last night while killing greaters that I will be going back to slayer, the monsters assigned usually drop charms decently and it will be a nice way to train my combat. Also, yes, my stats were not efficient to kill waterfiends AT ALL I went there and BAM 1 waterfiend takes half my monkfish then my prayer runs out halfway through my second one and I almost die.
