Why should I name my topic?

Okay, now here is a rant on rants.

 

 

 

How many times has the average tip.it member come into this section just to be bombarded with crazy topic names.

 

 

 

Here are a few:

 

Play to win already, scrubs

 

This is just getting ridiculous

 

New low from players

 

 

 

Most of these titles will not identify the subject matter of the rant.

 

Then there is the repetitive topics that are rampant throughout the rant section.

 

 

 

How many times do you see a General Discussion topic locked because it is a repeat of an existing topic? Why don't the moderators here stop defending the RSC crybabies and start locking these redundant topics?

 

 

 

Then there is the subject of the feud between the *whiners* and the "Get-over-iters." This feud will probably never end. I just ask these two groups to please. Articulate

 

 

 

I am tired of reading all of these awful topics that are barely legible because of the grammatical errors. I don't expect perfection, but a little effort would help.

 

 

 

Oh, and please, flame if you want. I don't mind. My feelings don't hurt easily. Besides I like to see different opinions.

Call this an edit, I'm posting a new one because I want to see the OP without having to press Back all the time.

 

 

 

1. "Play to win, scrubs" - a bit vague, but it must be about a game where the objective is to win - a minigame, perhaps? But THIS was the reason I made that topic title. The second one, I agree with, but from the third one I think you'll have a general idea about what you'll be reading.

 

2. I find that there is a difference between repeated GD topics and repeated rants. A repeated rant can still contain different stuff. As for that "RSC crybabies" thing, this is the first time I have ever seen a moderator defend ANY ranter. For the most part I see them just going all "Locked!!! You're doing it wrong".

 

3. OK, I'll try to articulate. Even more than before.

 

4. Please point out any grammatical errors that even a non-native English speaker is always expected to avoid.

 

5. Make a worse topic if you want to be flamed. ^^

I enjoy seeing a difference of opinion. It is how people grow intellectually. If you have something to add, then please add it.

I think the "new low" could possibly be a good title.

 

 

 

However, ranting about the same subject should be done in the same topic. Creating a new topic about the same subject leads to way too much redundancy.

 

 

 

Also, Fairness, the articulation request isn't necessarily meant for everybody, but you have to admit some of these posts are difficult to comprehend. I am a fairly intelligent person, but some of these posts are absolutely awful.

 

 

 

Again, I don't expect perfection, but just a little effort. I put the effort in when I respond, please, do the same (Fairness, this isn't aimed at you. I believe that your response to my topic was legible and coherent...Thanks.)

Honestly, you can call me a hypocrite for all I care, but there is so much wrong with this post it is not funny - yet I'm not going to elaborate.

But I am willing to elaborate for one thing...Its not a feud between whiners and get-over-iters...Its just a debate within the rants forum,to me.There have been debates in many forums to my knowledge (as in forums in general =P) so its perfectly normal.There will always be insensitive posters and people who take offense.

Unless the ranter types in all caps, which i still don't care because they feel they've been wronged and are mad, i doubt i would rant about their title.

I'm trying to follow someone's rant post about being constructive and not flaming people, so here goes.

 

 

 

Maybe some people are mad, not many people start thinking of others when they've been wronged.

 

Most people, when mad, don't start thinking of the most relative title for their rant topic when posting right off the bat.

 

Maybe if you'd said "I hate when people don't edit their title topic, then i would maybe agree.

 

The point of the rant topic is to relieve stress, not try and conserve other people's time so they can pick and choose which "rant" topic is worth their time... :shame:

 

When people rant, it is not for your sake, it is for the writer's sake.

I know what the purpose of the rants section is. I am merely posting this topic to have some fun. Did you ever think that sometimes rants are fun to get other peoples heated feedback? I enjoy a good rant session.

In rants forum you are allowed to have repeat threads, unless it is a very specific thing, and even with that it's lenient. I mean look, there are probably several threads ranting about the latest update in the past few pages.

I honestly, do not care at all about post count. There is nothing more needed to say don't look at it. No one is forcing you at all. Summing that all up: Alt+F4, CTRL+W, 50 Ton piano on top of computer.

First of all, the topics get more views from an interesting title, then an average boring one, if you want more discussion, your not going to say "Rant About [something]", a much more original title will get the interest of a person reading the topic titles and they're more likely to click on it.

 

 

 

Second, I kinda agree with the multiple topics, but usually theres a slightly different thing about each that means it can't be locked...
