Bounty Hunter Replacement

As we all know, bounty hunter is the main source of remaining INGAME RWT (item transfering). Not to say it doesnt exist elsewhere, but I think bounty is a rather big factor in RWT. If you cant bother to read it all, see the bottom for a summary.

 

 

 

[hide=How do we fix this?]Revamp bounty hunter into a new minigame. Adding a new minigame wouldnt do anything, as bounty hunter is still there.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=The Plan]We will be turning bounty hunter into a truly single way combat, much like edgeville, only there are no outside sources that can interfere. Full "kill and loot" system, and there is no running, hiding, or otherwise. Once you commit to a fight (all explained later) you must stay till they die, or you die.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=How it works]The BH crater would be taken out, and all that would be left is the platform / leaderboards / bank area. This is the stage of the minigame. There will be a tutor to explain the entire game. Banking will be there to, obviously, bank. Leaderboards should work the same way as bounty hunter works, since its still the same basic concept.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=Fighting]As I said, it will be a kill and loot system. Item protect prayer DOES NOT WORK. Full magics, and anything else you used to be able to use in the wilderness, except TELEPORTS. All teleports would be disabled for the fight. Once the battle is started (see below) you will be moved into a separate "realm" with your opponent, much like POH are, and those cutscenes. (Meaning its a very possible idea). The room would be able 10x10 big, and you would start at separate corners. Its a cave type environment, with a few rocks, but not many, just to add obstacles, and a cave exit in the bottom portion of the area. However, this is only used for when you win, there is no way to forfeit. Three second count down and the battle would begin. You would wage whatever means needed to kill your opponent. When you did, you are able to loot his items, and take as much time as needed. When done, exit through the cave, and you will be placed back outside at the minigame start. Once you leave the cave, you cannot go back for more items, so choose carefully.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=Picking a fight]All fights will be directed through the head master, perhaps the man from bounty hunter? Who explains the rules? (Not a tutor, we have a new NPC for that). You would speak, and say you wish to fight. You will be presented with a (warning at first, toggled off later) confirmation screen, with a large skull and a more in depth type meter thats used in bounty hunter. The system used in BH to determine your item value is used here, only more sensitive (About 10 bars). So once your happy with the amount of gear / items your willing to risk, you hit confirm. There will a waiting sequence and you will be randomly paired up with someone within 2 bar (+/-) of your item value. (Basically you wont wield a whip and get paired with someone using a rune scimitar). There is another factor : Level. The difference would be within 10 levels (+/-). This means a level 80 with a whip would be able to fight with a 70 using a whip and perhaps dragon armor. Once your paired up, you will be sent to the battle arena, like stated above. The same BH limits on items you can take in will still apply here.[/hide]

 

 

 

 

 

[hide=RWT Proof]Based on the large number of bounty hunter players, I think this would easily work to stop RWT. Three P2P worlds would be condensed into two, and there would be one FTP world. With the large amount of players, and them being randomly paired up with other people, would make RWT next to impossible. You are randomly paired with players stat and money wise ; close to you. It would be VERY VERY hard for a RWTer / customer to both pair up and do the exchange, not to mention the countless attempts that could fail, resulting in a loss for the customer and the company, making it VERY hard. Not only stopping RWT, this also gives back the classic edgeville style PKing without all the tag teamers, PJers, and other elements that are in BH that make it undesirable.[/hide]

If u only 1 on 1 some1, cant they just let u kill them to get their loot which makes RWT possible?

 

 

 

Read. He's suggesting a system that makes it near impossible to even get paired up with the RWT'er.

Those would be extremely crowded worlds, Maybe triple their size? Like, a max population of 6000 instead of 2000.

 

There are other ways to RWT than Bh ;) I doubt this would stop them.

 

Otherwise, i still support this because the current BH is just lame, i'm horrible at the new BH and i can't get any better because everyone else have maxed out stats for the cave.

I know there are other ways, but, as I said, this is a "large" way to do it. Its rather easy with having guards and what not.

 

 

 

And as to the above poster, Id rather contribute solutions than be like some forum goers that simply crab and complain about the updates and offer little or no solutions

First off, in my eyes, If someone real world trades they should be able too, Its there choice, and anyone can do it.

 

Second is when most people Transfer items it's because they got a godwars item or something that they can't split, because lootshare worlds are always full, You can fix this by making every world lootshare..

I like it, but mabye you can mak it so theres also groups of free for alls, randomaly decided. Idk, just a thought

Exactly, not to mention the fact that more LS worlds means more teams, more teams means more items, market crash anyone?

Yes, RWT happens in a small amount at bounty hunter, but in the long run, it is still a tiny fraction of what it used to be. Now you are just taking a bad minigame already and making it worse. In all games rwt happens a bit, you have to just accept that, you can try to prevent it, but you can't stop all of it. For example. If jagex wanted to make rwt go away completely, there would be no risky pvp, and you could only log on to your account from 1 ip adress. Granted, you couldn't log in if you moved or anything, or if you had a dynamic IP, but it would stop rwt right? Is it worth it? no.

And this basically matches you up with someone your level, and your item value. Same way edgeville was. You couldnt fight people with such a great level difference, and if your in dharoks, you wouldnt attack someone with a dds and scim as their weapons, would you?

If you were addressing me with that post, you really have no experience in pking. For example, if I was a level 100, with 99 range, blackhide, accumulator, snakeskin boots, a glory, a rune c bow, karils helm and 30 dragonstone enchanted bolts my value would be roughly 150k, yet I could easily kill a guy dressed up in full dharoks with level 100 melee stats.

 

Also, this selects someone close to your combat level and value, right? That's not what you did at edgeville, who would you rather fight? a guy with 45 defence, 99 strength and 75 attack, or a guy with 70 defense and 75 strength and attack (I know those wouldn't equal the same exact combat level, but you get the point). The second guy of course, sure his defense might be a bit higher, but a guy with 99 strength could spec you out easily with a dds.

 

 

 

Alternatively, a ancient in mystic top and d hide legs and runes and all would only have about 100k-200k value, but could take out a guy in dharoks with barrage easily.

 

 

 

Two people with the same combat level and equipment value are not the same strength.

I don't think that should happen, although i do think there should be a 2v2 or 3v3 and so on minigame which is a bit like your minigame. On F2P you can't fight with your friends in a dangerous minigame (minigame where you can lose your items) now wildys gone.

I was addressing you regarding to your comment of "no real rwt is left". Id rather be part of the solution than be a ranter.

But your part of the Tif Events team, you should know what goes on in these forums, so, why am I telling you?

 

 

 

 

 

As for your PKing logic, this means that people in dharoks and mystic would NOT meet up, but instead someone with karils would meet up with someone in ahrims. That mystic and black hide person would meet up with a rune legs and fighter torso pker. You cant compare apples and oranges, saying the orange would win. Two different levels and two equipment sets with a VERY LARGE difference.

Now your putting rangers and all at a disadvantage, the max value of their equipment is like, 20mish with armadyl and all, but no one really pks in that, but the max price for a meleers outfit is somewhere in the 110m range, with a godsword and bandos. A mage is even lower, and i'm not counting third age, since ahrims is basically the same as it.

 

 

 

The thing is, a ranger with a 20k outfit could beat a meleer with a 3m outfit, and I have done that before, at only 83 range. I hit a 48 or so with dragon bolts, then another 30 something to finish the off, before they had a chance to hit me for more than 20.

 

 

 

You system caters to meleers, and makes it unfair for rangers and mages, because in the long run, they will have spent, most likely, around 50m for range or more getting it to 99, and a mage spends either around 20m with alchs, or 50m with stuns (if i remember right), and so why is it fair that they are only allowed to win stuff worth 100k? that's nothing. Bounty hunter is already a bad game, an this would only make it worse in my opinion
