Stone of jas...

Hi, you may not know me (except Behind Y0u and some others Belgian/Dutch people), but I do know a lot of you all, already reading these forums for several years etc, but never had the urge to create an account. :P

But I have something to say about the FoG relation with the Stone of Jas. The place where you collect those tears, was a Saradomin Church/Sanctuary/... and was the place where the last battle of the Third Age was fought between the forces of Saradomin and Zamorak. Then Guthix awoke, and crushed his fist in the ground, thus stopping all the fighting and creating the Guthixian Edicts. His punch on the floor created a figure which is a sample of his fist and thanks to the power of the punch the whole place was filled by the special force that the Druids are now collecting from you when you play the game. This is what I've found on RSOF, various other forums and responses of RS Mods. :P

I hope this will help.

Also, I do think, that flying thingy is the stone of Jas, however, it's a shame it doesn't look like the stone on the skull of a character, placed in one of the Development Diaries. Would have been so cool to see the Mahjarrat forces having it and your character and 7 other people having to stop them. (Path of Glouphrie reference)

P.S.: Sorry if my grammar is horrible, English is not my native language. :P Correct me when you see some faults.

Welcome to TIF and yes it would be awesome for a mahjarrat/stone of jas quest and i dont think its to late for one either,

there seems to be some buzz over the 150th quest so hopefully that may be it,but knowing jagex i could be years before we get a conclusion

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Well this thread is rife with speculation about the 150th quest so I'm posting my concern here.

Look at how interconnected nearly all of the quest arcs are. The Mahjarrat, the Fremmineks (finding stone of Jas), Juna and the Tears of Guthix, Fist of Guthix mini-game, the druids, the elves, the vampyre ores, the GNOMES for goodness sake! My biggest fear is that Jagex will make a clean sweep of all their untied ends. Personally I enjoy the stories that are told through the quests. I actually stopped playing Runescape because I had beaten all the quests I could (Desert Treasure too weak of heart and Recipe for Disaster because of DT) and was awaiting a full plate of quests to return!

If Jagex ties the Vampyres, the Elves, the Mahjarrat, and these History quests together than we'll have so few of the arcs left! In terms of distance across the world of Runescape look at how far apart the Vampyres and the elves are! Why would they be consorting or involved at all? They involve opposite forces fighting their own separate battles! Although this signal beacon in a new up coming quest could mean danger for Varrock and the world west of Canafis. Perhaps the Vampyres really are spreading their wings and sucking the life out of another area (pun intended).

Simply put I hope that Jagex does not try to wrap up several stories into one quest line. I do not believe that on over-arcing evil mastermind throughout Runescape would best satisfy the hunt for adventure and mystery that my fellow questers and I search for. Would it be at all satisfying knowing that there is an ultimate "Bad Guy" out there but you only get to fight his generals again and again (in quests mind you, the God Wars Dungeon, oddly enough does exactly that)?

Hmm nerfing 2 skills with one stone, sorry for the lame pun.

But why bring the stone of jas with runecrafting and magic, i think it'll just be on the quest but players will never get their hands on that pesky piece of rock.

WOW THAT ROCK LOOKS LIKE A FOOTBALL.

I was thinking it looks more like a Bucky Ball.

Anyway, if that is the stone of Jas, I think it was destroyed. Why? Well, look at the runecrafting altars. They were destroyed by the Fremmenik so maybe they attacked the stone as well. OR maybe the altars are made from pieces of the orb of Jas.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

Maybe it could be a huge update revolving around magic and rune crafting. Possibly at certain Runecrafting levels you can harness the power from the stone to be able to use magic without using rune stones?

New Runes as well?

[hide=New Rune 1]Also i saw this strange rune flying around. Possibly another Rune crafting Update?

It looks like a water rune but with a triangle and an oblong inside.[/hide]

[hide=New Rune 2]newfirerunexx3.png

And also this one. It looks like a fire rune, but it has two red flames and an orange one.[/hide]

Could we be in for an extension to the normal spell book and be able to cast rune less magic, at a high rune crafting level of course, with the stone of Jas.?

I bet thats the stone of Jas, but there is another thing that i cant take out of my head.

If i remeber correctly (sorry, i dont know much about the Runescape history) it says that guthix created us, but in the quest we find out that we actually came from another plane! (real wolrd anyone?).

I think this is a huge change in the runescape history. But there is something i dont understand, Guthix is supose to be the god of balance but why did he make the portal for us? didnt he destroy the balance doing this? i mean, he brought some weird creatures from another world...

Well, if I remember correctly, no-one really knows where we came from... I think everybody just assumed that we were created by Guthix, but the lore only states 'Guthix found an empty plane, shaped it, and went to rest'. I agree, this kinda implies he created us, but this explanation works too.

And about the balance thing, Guthix could in fact introduce races to Runescape without destroying balance. One explanation for him getting humans here is that he 'created' races two at a time, each being the opposite of the other, that would keep things kinda balanced. Another theory is that, because Seren brought the Elves into Gielenor first, Guthix saw that the world wasn't balanced anymore, so he brought a race of it's own to restore balance!

This last one seems likely to me, as Elves probably were the first race on RuneScape, this is backed up by both lore and the fact that you can see a startled Elven scout in the Meeting History-past.

Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).

I guess thats a good theory but there was balance, Elves in Runescape and Humans in the other plane (Earth).

But its just a game, lets not ruin Jagex imagination, I accept your theory ::'
