Tree growth times

I just bought 80 farming in yew and palm tree seeds and payments (going for 80+ in all skills) and am extremely inexperienced in the ins and outs of tree growing. I've gotten my current farming level with almost no trees. Do any of you experienced tree farmers have a good estimate of how long it takes palm and yew trees to grow/how long it's good to wait for each? I know that the KB has times, but those are always so wildly off that I don't even pay attention to them anymore. Also, if anybody has any other tips they think might help somebody who hasn't farmed many trees could benefit from, please throw them out there. Thanks for your help!

The times wildy vary, as you said. The best estimate is what is already provided by the KB.

I'm not so sure about that- I've never, ever seen a plant grow in less time than the KB estimates. It always seems to say 20-100% faster than reality.

If there is a huge disparity in growing times, what's a good amount of time to wait before checking each type so I can be 99% guaranteed to find a fully grown tree?

Thanks ^_^

What I did when farming trees is I planted trees in all 5 patches, and bound my nature ammy to the last tree I did, then when it buzzed I went and did another round. Sometimes one wasn't done yet, but it wasn't often, and when it did, I just skipped over it.

Oh man, how did I forget about the amulet of nature? I even have a sad and unused one in my bank. Thanks, I'll be doing that!

well its like this: everyone knows that when you drink a potion, the bonus will wear down one level every minute. But the minute is at a set time equally for everyone, so if you drink a potion 2 seconds before that set minute it will wear down one level after 2 seconds instead of the normal one minute.

ok having said that: this is the same for trees, it has certain stages at whcih it grows every so many hours, again this moment is equally for everyone. Now when you plant a tree a few minutes before this growth point the first stage will only take a few minutes and therefor greatly reduce the total time of growth

but you could be unlucky and plant it just after one of these growth points and have you take it a lot longer to get your tree fullgrown.

this is all from my own experience and i have no official evidence for it, but i believe it to be true

thats what the farming guide on tipit is there for ;)

They take their info straight from the KB which, as I mentioned, seems to have just made up their times. They're seriously just completely wrong, no reason to pay attention to them at all.
