Ever killed a random caged monster with say...fire blast and it dropped something valuable...but you didnt have telegrab runes? Ever thought why you had to bring nats to alch, deaths and chaos to burst, and laws to get out of there? Inventory space is a big issue and mages need the most space. So my idea is that high level mages should be able to convert runes....with the help of the gods of Runescape of course....

 

 

 

First of all I will be suggesting 3 new prayers. These prayers are a little special. In addition to requiring prayer levels they also require mage levels

 

Elemental Conversion: Requires 60 Prayer and 70 Magic(credit to Beethovens29)

 

Prayer 2(open for name suggestions):Requires 70 Prayer and 80 Magic

 

Prayer 3(open for name suggestions):Requires 80 Prayer and 90 Magic

 

 

 

Now lets group all the runes into 3 categories.

 

 

 

Level 1:Mind, Body, Air, Water, Earth, Fire.

 

Level 2:Chaos, Astral, Cosmic

 

Level 3:Nature, Law, Death, Blood, Soul

 

 

 

Let me explain a little more about those prayers. Unlike other prayers there is no drain rate (basically you could leave them on forever and it will never drain you prayer points). Instead of a time-based drain its a spell based drain. Every spell that you use while that prayer is activated uses up 1 prayer point. Still confused? Alright let me give you an example

 

 

 

Player A has 82 mage and 80 prayer and is on the ancients spellbook. He has with him 100 laws and 500 airs. A random event evil chicken pops up and he wants to kill it but he has no weapons. Well he activates "Prayer 3" and "Prayer1" which allows him to change his runes so that he can kill the evil chicken using laws and airs! Basically once he turns on the prayer his laws are now natures/deaths/bloods/souls as well as laws and his airs are minds/bodies/waters/earths/fires. Since he has prayer 1 and 3 on, each spell he uses will cost him 2 prayer points. However to make up for the convinience, it costs him double the runes.

 

 

 

Heres a recap for those who are too lazy to read the whole thing.

 

3 prayers, requiring a mage and prayer level.

 

3 sets of runes to make sure you cant profit from changing runes.

 

Using a different rune costs 1 prayer point per spell as well as using double runes.

Mmm perhaps, but I see combination runes as....well basically a huge failure. Besides this requires high skills and can be used with all runes. Tbh only good thing about combination runes is the staffs.

 

 

 

Also to the guy above me you did notice that there are categories?

Tbh if this came into runescape it should be put together with runecrafting rather than mage. And it might be alright if you could only do 1 for about 5-10 prayer points

lol, youd have to set something like, airs can only be changed into lower lvl runes or....can only be changed into elemental runes? but bodies turning into souls and chaos to bloods :| even for a price of 1 pray pt thats very drastic conversions.

Quite. As a matter of fact, you could do just that by camping at an altar, since runes stack. If you want to be more prepared, bring the right runes. If inventory space is a problem, perhaps you could try a combination staff.

Obviously both of you did not bother reading through my entire suggestion...i already made it so that there are certain categories..u cant change bodies into souls....also it costs double so how do you make money. also you dont actually get the runes, they are just used up the spell as if you had them.

Huge profit since bloods and deaths are nearly the same price and it takes double runes.....please dont post if you only have something idiotic to say.

I'd rather that Jagex did something about combination runes- not just elemental, and made the process cheaper and better overall. Besides, I think that there is a risk that this will easily be either overpowered or underpowered.

Jagex has never said that. If the gods created runes, then they should be able to change their abilities as they wish.

 

It's a pretty good idea. You stuck up all the holes, and everyone's objections are basically null.

i think prayer 2 could be called "Lunar Metamorphasis" being that it has to do with lunar magick well mayb not the chaos one but you could think of it as "astrological" i geuss :lol:

 

 

 

maybe prayer 3 could be "Transfiguration of Existence" being that nature, law, death, blood, and soul are like part of life and existence so thats why i thought of tht one :P
