Chazimcgee
good to see you are experimenting with forms. Try to go for something with light in it instead of a single colour. Like Soa's tut, it has a glowing supernova. This light allows for more dpeth created in the smudge and can be implemented into a signature and can be used for all sorts fo things. Keep it up :) Sn'C Events Team Member942nd to 99 hunter 2/8/07|26,042nd to reach 99 fletching 27/10/07|Quest Cape Achieved 22/1/08|50,000th to 99 Cooking 29/10/08Dagannoth King Drops: 7 Zerkers 2 Axes 3 Warriors | Armadyl: 1 hilt first ever trip and kill | Barrows: 2 Dharok Legs 1 Ahrim Skirt 1 Torag Helm 1 Guthan Spear
VjuliusT
I Soa's guide is great for depth although you don't have to use such a bright colour for it, I use two different shades of one colour just and it turns out quite good . The smudging is quite good I would just want slightly higher scatter and strength in it.
yaff2
i have started a signature with this smudge technique, and i would suggest using more shades of the same color and smudging them together. It gives you good depth and looks real good, i will post the signature when im done it to show you what i mean 1980 Berlinetta with a 350, bored, mild cam, intake carb, headers, exhaust
Jopie211
The smudge setting look pretty good to me, but try to use some more shades of the same colour like other people said. pixel avvy by me deviantART

Keep it up :) This is what I found out. Hell, I even tried experimenting with a lens flare placed into it to start smudging. Also tried a clipping mask (new layer and then Ctrl+alt+G) to add in more depth to it.
Shiny
This is cool. Good smudging, and I can't wait to see this in a sig. Needs depth, so i suggest using alike colours.
