Yeah it is too steep, I'll need to fix that.

I'm not sure how much further I can get with this lol. I think I've screwed up somewhere along the way, so idk. It's good experience either way.

Quads? That's generally not a good idea, can I see the tutorial you're following?

I can't even remember which one it was, it was one about how to do a hood.

What would you recommend for a car? I probably could retry it with a better method.

I wouldn't take reference from a sports car personally, maybe look at a BMW Saloon or a Volvo or something.

GJ so far though

I'd go with Poly or Box modeling. I've modeled some things using surface covered splines too, but they generally have to be cleaned up due to the mesh being "holey". I don't know if it's just the way your car body is smoothed, but it looks weird (the lines, not the body shape)

edit: Dunno if I ever posted this up on the old tip.it, but this was made around 2006. Ignore the windows, the refraction was badly set and I never got around to re-rendering it until I did the "joke" "suped" up version.

Thought it might inspire you, or know what you can do. Both 3ds Max and Vray.

Thanks. I was thinking of redoing it with poly modeling and paying more attention to making sure it has some clean lines. Like I said I wasn't really following any kind of procedure here, I just started with the hood and went from there.

I have a goal; Complete the wikibook Blender 3D: Noob to pro in its entirety. It starts out very basic, that should help. We need moar 3D modelers on the gallery.

That's how I'm learning to use Blender, it's very difficult for me though.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Car is coming along ok... you need to round out the bottom on the windshield more though, as currently it's just a straight line.
