oliboli1992 Posted August 16, 2008 Share Posted August 16, 2008 Granite shield is only 100k and has one of the best ranged efense in the game, i think second to dfs, an more expensive alrternative to granite sheild is an obby shield which has the same range defense bonus but cost something like 450k, if you have over 20 mil to spend then get a dragonfire shield... Granite Shield: +65 Ranged Defence -8 Ranged Defence Cost: 90k Notes: Cheap and good defence Toktz-Ket-Xil: +65 Ranged Defence -8 Ranged Defence Cost: 340k Noes: Same as granite yet 4 times the cost? I think not! Dragon Square shield: +50 Ranged Defence -2 Ranged Offence Cost: 780k Notes: Need to complete Legend's quest to start Crystal Shield: +80 Ranged Defence -10 Ranged Offence Cost: Starts from 720k Notes: Looses power as it looses charges (looses charged when you get hit, 1/10 crystal shield has +62 ranged defence) Dragonfire Shield: +72 Ranged Defence -5 Ranged Offence Cost: 21m Notes: Out of your price range Personally I would go with the granite shield. Rune Kiteshield has the advantage that it can also be used as a Saradomin/Zamorak item if you use the TT god armours so you may find that that fits in better. Crystal shield ranges from 80 to a measly 62 defense, for an average of 71 defense. And then it VANISHES in the middle of combat and you have to wander all the way into Arandar for the privilege of buying another one. DFS has better overall defense than Crystal shield. DFS is by far the superior shield, I've had one for over 6 months and will probably never sell it. It is, however an expensive item and if you are ranging aviansies with a low budget then I'd go for the crystal, granite if you're too lazy to do the quests for crystal. (But don't bring dragon to GWD, its not that good...) -Get a mithril Grapple and kill them inside the fortress, not outside, that way you don't have to wear something saradomin. So sell those bracers. -Once you get enough cash, sell that Zamorak Coif and get a Zamorak Body, then buy Torag Helmet. -Bring B2p Tabs, and tank them, don't use Prayer pot method, it looks like your strapped for cash as it is.
