Best armor for f2p?

Hi, i just got back into runescape and found that it has changed ALOT since i quit.

 

I want to train my combat but there are more rune items to choose from, so i was wondering what items are the best to train with in F2P.

probably full rune with a rune berserker shield from Fog. I can't think of anything else..

also is there any new necklaces i should know about or should i stick with the strength necklace

I think the time it takes to get the zerker shield and gauntlets outweighs its usefulness. That's just my opinion.

boots should be the ones from the Stronghold of Security. Other than that slaytanicc was dead on. Though I would opt to go with a power ammy over a strength but that is just me.

No doubt that you are correct but I guess when I think of ftp I think of many areas that are too far away from banks to warrent the usefulness of a few extra attack bonuses where as defensive bonuses would be welcomed.

 

 

 

Then again with his stats I guess it really would not matter either way.

I would rather use a regular rune kite instead of the berserker, as the charges degrade rapidly in PvP, i remember when my zerker went down from 80-20 in an hour at clan wars. The berserker might raise your max by one, but in the long run i think kiteshield is better.

I partially agree. However rune gauntlets never degrade so their definantly worth it. How ever charging a berserker shield for training isn't worth it. If you train on lower level monster you can use it while it's degraded and still get a +2 str bonus, but significantly less defence bonuses.

When equipment gives you a strength bonus, it raises your maximum hit, just like a higher strength levels does.

 

 

 

When equipment gives you defense bonuses, it increases the chance that your opponent will hit a zero on you if they are using that type of attack. So a higher slash defense bonus will make enemies using slash attacks hit less often and a higher magic defense bonus will make enemies using magic attacks hit less often.

 

 

 

When equipment gives you attack bonuses, it increases the chance that you will hit an enemy and not hit a zero. So if equipment raises your slash attack bonus, it increases the chance that you will hit with a weapon using a slash attack style.

 

 

 

A power amulet gives you a +6 bonus in all attacks and defenses, a +6 strength bonus, and a +1 prayer bonus. An amulet of power is useful if you are fighting strong enemies when you will need the defense bonus and the attack bonus.

 

 

 

An amulet of strength gives a +10 strength bonus. An amulet of strength is better than an amulet of power when you are fighting weak enemies that you will hit almost every time so that the amulet of power's attack bonus is not so useful and that will almost never hit you so that the amulet of power's defense bonus is not so useful, because it will raise your max hit a little bit higher than an amulet of power, which will always be useful.

 

 

 

This holds true for ALL types of melee training. Training attack/strength/defense/controlled only determines where your experience will go.

Power ammy has +6 attack bonus as well. I think it's better than str ammy which has +10 strength bonus btw.

OMG.... i ment to say this the other way arouund... For STR and ATT training it would be better to use the POWER ammy, and for DEF training it would be better to use the STR ammy
