  1. Well, for melee the amulet of strength gives 0.2% more critical bonus but you lose the +1 to prayer, so it's a good alternative. Here again, the arcane blast necklace gives 0.3% more critical bonus, so definetely better if you have it.
  2. Those might be inactive bots, so they are probably unaffected by such bannings but then I'm curious why they are still P2P.
  3. Nobody knows? Payment method would be credit card btw.
  4. Just curious, if I subscribe on 31th of July for 2 months do I get all the bonuses and stay p2p till 1th of October (cause I get 2x 31 days)?
  5. Insight Venture Partners are the investors of both Jagex and Nexon... just saying.
  6. Well, most of the German F2P can be found in the clan "Ger F2P". Yeah, except the 3 already mentioned above. ;) Hard to track who's the best in each country cause of the lack of the hiscores. Amongst the Germans I think Tute2901 has the highest total level (1597) and Fluhminator the highest total exp (not sure how much, maybe 550m or more).
  7. So, I'm reading the Behind the Scenes wrong? I'm just pointing out what they said. It's not like I wasn't surprised or would use it if it's F2P.
  8. Indeed it is. This is a decision harsher even than the f2p highscore removal, this actually removes content from f2p in order to allure them into buying p2p. Huh? F2P never had The Crucible to begin with and the only dynamic area that saw any action in f2p aside from boxing in low-level wildy was multi wilderness up by Greater Demons / Spider Hill. And the Duel Arena since the removal of free trade (or thereabouts) has been F2P for ages - unless they're changing that with the beta? I didn't see anything about that, so if they are, forgive me. Well, F2P had Bounty Hunter. And the Crucible should replace it, right? So, you can say they took it away.
  9. Excuse my ignorance, but what are the hotkeys set to. 1 obviously superheat, but the others? 2 drop gold bar and 4 drop gold ore I guess.
  10. You will get 10% less exp, so it's actually 90% of the original exp. It's 10% of the original experience. Oh, sorry. Looks like Jagex can't translate properly. It's written wrong in the german blog... :(

  12. We already knew it's calculated differently when in team. Do such a graph for solo, you will probably see the difference and what Jagex was talking about.
  13. As a couple sets were sold quite rarely they didn't update as frequently as the individual pieces leading to a misleading price.
  14. Fixed it for ya. And I agree. Can't wait for diablo 3 either. Peace, Vann Fixed it for ya. And I agree. Can't wait for diablo 3 either. Peace, me
  15. The rule was just outdated for quite some time. For Jagex RWT always was that what they say now. But the first point of "why we have this rule" was something they always said when people asked about micro transactions. That probably changed when the investors took over.
  16. According to this article on my government's site any online "game of chance" is illegal unless a licence has been issued to the organisation hosting said game of chance. A game of chance is defined as, and I quote, "Een spel is een kansspel als spelers een prijs kunnen winnen en geen overwegende invloed hebben op het spel." - In English: "A game is a game of chance when players can win a prize and do not have a predominant influence on said game." The Squeal of Fortune fits this definition (in my view anyway) because, even though we always win 'a prize' - players do not have any influence on the game. Though the law is not very specific here, always winning 'a prize' - if Jagex interprets an empty bucket as such - still means the player can win a prize; they just do not know which one. Just like Deal or no Deal is considered a game of chance, while the lowest prize to be won there still is worth something (0.01 iirc). The law also specifies several times that it is illegal for those who have been issued a licence (in the unlikely event that Jagex somehow managed to get one), they are prohibited from offering games of chance to those below the age of 18. With that in mind, how is it legal? Actual Jmod quote for reference: http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/32/sofp.png Game of chance definition: http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/kansspelen-en-kansspelbelasting/soorten-kansspelen I think it's not that easy, e.g. define a prize. Is flipping a coin with my friend to decide who takes the pretty girl also a game of chance and we need a license for it? If that prize has to be of monetary value, buyable spins are not a game of chance as those virtual goods don't have a specific worth. I don't understand dutch, so can't red into it.
  17. It should be noted, that with the Squeal wheel you can win extra rolls, which do have a fixed monetary value as appointed by Jagex. Therefore it is currently gambling not only by common sense, but also by the UK law. As long as you can't lose money it's not gambling. Well, technically you can lose money. F2P accounts, in order to get the special rare item that they've just won, have to pay more money in order to acquire it. Not only is that another microtransaction, but it's also a bribe. They don't have to pay more. P2P also had to pay their membership...

  19. The problem is you can't specify the value. As long as that bucket doesn't have a value less than what they sell 1 spin it's no gambling as you can't lose moneys worth. btw It prevents Jagex from making an item shop where they sell certain stuff from the squeal or something which can be traded for gp because then you can specify those values. But they can sell loyality points...
  20. Well, in my country I know of lotterys where you always can win but it's still considered gambling and you have to be 18+ to do them (I consider "always win" as a legal scam btw). "Gambling is the wagering of money or something of material value" as wiki says. Always having a win doesn't classify it as not gambling. The problem here is the uncertain value of the outcome: What real value has e.g. a cabbage? Since this question is unanswered those buyable spins can't be classified as gambling.
  21. He didn't get any more exp till the f2p hiscore nuke. Never heard anything about him after that. I'm thinking the only way we'll know is if someone is in contact with him. Nobody is, I can guarantee that. :D
