September 5, 200817 yr Since I'm grounded for four long, tedious months, I've decided I would go for 99 Woodcutting. Would it be smarter for me to continue cutting at the Gnome Stronghold on the Yews being able to use my Beaver for the boost? Or just forget about the Beaver and money and go straight for the experience? Either way, I enjoy woodcutting and figured it's time I pursued it :) 99 Fletching || 288/309 Quest Points || 99 Cooking || 122 Combat || 99 Defence || 2000+ Total ||16/25 80+'s || 99 Firemaking || 99 Woodcutting || 2011 Goals : All skills 80+ | 99 Magic | 99 Farming | 99 Thieving | 99 Hunter | 99 Range "The Unexamined Life is not worth living" - Socrates

Or just willows all the way. never heard anyone suggest maples lol Willows aren't even CLOSE to being worth it. They're incredibly overrated. They're only about 3-5k exp/hr faster than eucalyptus. They're also about 10-15k exp/hr slower than cutting and dropping teaks with a dragon axe, AND they're 5-10k exp/hr AND about 45k gp/hr slower than chopping teaks with the parcel system to bank. Willows are only ever worth it for f2p players, or members with 30-34 woodcutting who can't chop teaks.
September 5, 200817 yr Maples are pretty fast with 100xp per. So if you can cut 2k and hour(I doubt it. Not in an offensive way though), thats 200kxp/hr. I agree 100% with whichever brilliant mind made this post. : I would also recommend eucalyptus instead of yews. They're faster experience and (at today's prices anyway) better profit. And you certainly can't chop 2k maples in an hour; that obviously falls into the 75% of statistics that are made up on the spot. Small amounts of testing showed an average of a little less than 440 maples per hour, which is just under 20k gp/hr profit and only 44k exp/hr. At 99. I can't even get 1k willows in an hour (about 800/hr tops, for the record), let alone 2k maples. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
September 5, 200817 yr I would recommend maples all the way. Burn them all and then get yourself a trimmed skill cape for your two level 99 skills.
September 6, 200817 yr I would recommend maples all the way. Burn them all and then get yourself a trimmed skill cape for your two level 99 skills. I also tested maples chopping and burning as I went, since there was a nice convenient burn line along the tracks of the coal trucks just to the northwest of Seer's Village. I managed to chop & burn an average of 350 logs an hour at 99 woodcutting, which is 35k wc xp/hr and about 48k fm xp/hr. Both of those compare unfavorably to teaks, which were 50k wc xp/hr and 54k fm xp/hr. With an inferno adze, these numbers would of course be higher in both cases. But anyway, if you wanted to get both wc and fm to 99, teaks are far better than maples. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

September 6, 200817 yr Willows at barb till like 85, maples till 90. Yews till 95. Then back to willows. Or just willows all the way. Sorry Guthan, but what is the point in Switching back to Willows? You are better just to keep doing Yews, or go to Teaks/Maples. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

You are better just to keep doing Yews, or go to Teaks/Maples. Well not maples. But if yews are better at one level, they are better at every level. There's no magical level up where it suddenly becomes good to chop yews where it was bad before, or vice versa. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
