Jitouz
I'm a noob in media's stuffs. And I need help, could someone show me the example and explain what is the meaning of... - Grunge - Premade - Vector - Abstract Ty so much :) Thanks Metroid for the siggy and dark_shadow for avvy! \:D/  <3 wendy
Jervi
grunge is like darkish, goth like images. premade is something someone made before had and wants to sell, can be any kind; pixel, abstract, grunge, etc. vector, not too sure about this one. :? abstract is similar to grunge but more bright and sometimes 3dish brushing. i'll see if i can find some samples... The_Jeppoz
Vector is a mathematical (and scalable) approach to arts... 8)
Lordliquid
A vector is basicly that instead of using a bunch of pixels to create a line, one creates two points and the computer calculates the line between them, this resulting in no aliasing. This way you can keep on zooming on the line, and it will always remain a straight line, instead of pixels put together. You can create vector with, for example; Adobe Illustrator. Jitouz
thanks all for the informations, but is it possible to post up 1-2 examples of each? :) ty again Thanks Metroid for the siggy and dark_shadow for avvy! \:D/  <3 wendy
Greatsilverwyrm
To elaborate on what Jeppoz and Liquid said.. There are basically 2 types of graphics: Raster and Vector. Raster graphics are made up of squares of color known as pixels. Vector graphics are made up of mathematically defined lines that are filled or stroked with color. These lines/shapes can be scaled either up or down with no loss of quality whatsoever. Technically speaking, all graphics you see on a computer are raster graphics, but some of them were made using vectors. Since it's easier to show you what's not raster, I'll give you an example of a vector: Notice the crisp lines, fairly low detail, etc.. There are however some incredibly amazing and detailed vectors that you would swear are photos.. As for the rest of your questions.. Grunge: I can't really show you an example of premade, but, basically, it's anything that you personally didn't make, but use.. Vector I already showed you.. Abstract is kind of vague, but, as far as the whole graphics community on the web goes, this is an abstract:
Lordliquid
Abstract basicly is something you can't define, or see what it is. The picture GSW showed is, as he said, what most people on these runescape circles of graphics design make of abstract; renders and brushings that don't mean or show anything. "Do you really know me? I might be a God."
