Cyco_Reborn
Peace... Peace goes with quiet... I don't like quiet, therefore I don't like Peace day. Quoi_Tu
You dole out one day of peace. People begin to realize how much they like it. They crave it. It persists. Exactly. If I remember correctly, Crack Day worked just as well. People can't get enough of it. Slightly more on topic, we should have a peace year. Totalitarian style. Bouwzie
I don't even think we have Peace Day here.
Zierro
I don't get it at all. Why do we need an excuse to be nice? There would be no change if every year was a "Peace Year." Imagine if every hour was "Earth Hour." It's an idealistic thought. Isn't that my point? I invite you all to watch the movie Scrooged. I know that old habits die hard, but all it takes is a little self-reminding and you can make the miracle happen. Instead of forcing kindness into one day, force it into your personality instead. 1_man_army
Then I suspect that this day will be subject to a self-fulfilling prophecy. Maybe the day will end up worse than normal, just because a bunch of pessimists think it isn't worth the effort. I didn't say that it wasn't worth the effort, I just don't think it can ever feasibly work in practice. I don't personally buy into the idea that all global conflict will cease for a day because somebody has created this random day. It would be nice and I applaud the idealism behind it but I just don't see it working. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
