40 to 60 mage... with a extreamly low budget

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get 60 mage on my low-level P2P account.

But, as of right now i have 139k after buying all the equipment needed for Aviansies(That's why I'm getting 60, a god cloak and high alch).

I know i can high alch my way from 55 to 60 with little gold loss, but getting to 55 is my problem.

I know i will have to make some more cash to get there, so I'd basically like to know the cheapest method.

once you get 43 mage you could buy coal and mith ore and superheat them if you have high enough smith you'll only lose bout 12 gp a cast if you sell on ge

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

I know i should have used the steel bar method to get money... That way I'd have 50 smithing to do it...

Yea, the only good non-combat skill this account has is crafting at 46...

Use FOG as a last resort, because even some players run to lowbies even if they say they're trianing.

You can try the Mage Training Arena. Not sure about the xp rates, but you can make some money.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

^ I second that.

Mage on FOG would be fairly good xp for you level. Free Runes are awesome =)

Yea, the only problem with that is it halves the exp that you get...

I'm thinking it would be faster to save the cash and buy rune runes for teleing to 45 then use cam tele for 55.

By the way, awesome avatar.

Thanks. ::'

I didn't know it halved the xp. Hmm learned something new. You sure it halves it? I thought only Mage Training Arena and Pest Control gave less xp for magic.

Curse. That's how I got it, costing only about 100k, you'll be able to get it for less nowadays.

i think i did pest control when i was in ur situation a few days ago.

not the best way to go i guess. i just bolted mobs all day getting from 45 ish to 52. After i won 50 games, i got a level up from 100 points i spent on the magexp reward getting me from 52-53.

you get about 30k back in coin rewards for winning 50 games at lowbie boat. :/ not much but it kind of pays u back for runes... sort of.

when i had 53 mage, i bought a bunch of wizard's mind bombs from falador (like 3gp each). and drank em, which gave me 55 mage and from then on i just high alchd crap from the GE.

not very efficient... but if u like pest control, then this is one way to do it.
